Words that should be words but aren't
This thought keeps creeping up in that ol' headspace of mine. Just now the (non)word "legionious" acted as a catalyst for this whole damn thing because I think it would work so perfect where I want it but it doesn't exist. Here, "legionious" means "like a legion. formalised, organized, in many rows" or something. Other words that I've thought have been "assertation" and "restoral."
I brought this up to zoi and in his ever infinite English capacity he rightfully noted that these are essentially various conjugations slapped onto preexisting root words, and I would agree. Why then, can we not use them? Why can't conjugations be able to be applied to any word?
Lastly, what are some (non)words you think should be words?

Re: Words that should be words but aren't
Until recently, it took several years for a newly-coined word to gain general acceptance. Now, with social media, hundreds of new terms and phrases become commonly used. If you want to coin something just find a concept that is not precisely represented by a known word in English, make up a term and then post it to social media.
Here is my new word:
Mipskow -- the feeling that one should be living in a wild place and not in the city. Literal meaning is "a hunger for a dwelling in or near a forest."

"Analogize" which, maybe contrary to what some of your dirty minds think, is the verb form of "analogy"

Oh wait nvm it is; they just made the official confirmation way too complicated. That one is going on my list of "should show up in webster as a variation of 'hear' when I type it in" even if it is a word.
Also, why did google docs give me the squiggly under it until I spent 10 min looking it up and verifying it: only then did the squiggly disappear.
This whole ordeal on the word "hears" tonight has left me offput... I feel strange.

"rantatory"
meaning the same as "ranty" but like predatory, meaning ill harm.

In general there aren't many adjective forms of words that should have adjective forms. If I were a linguist I could apply the correct suffix but I'm not so I can't.

Re: Words that should be words but aren't
I introduced the term Augustus offer in a friends group, and after only a year or two some of them thought it was actually a Dutch word because of how much there is a need for such a word.
Some background: Augustus (One of the first Roman emperors) offered all of his political power to the senate. He knew they would refuse this move, so he did it to create good will. In modern life we do this a lot. We offer to do something kind, knowing the other person will reject that offer. We'll say "oh, you can also have the last beer if you want", knowing they will refuse your offer. You'll be a nice guy at literally no cost at all. To describe this frequently occuring social phenomenon, we should use the term 'Augustus offer'; An offer made to seem nice, knowing the other person will reject your offer regardless. One of my favorite things is when an Augustus offer goes wrong. No free kindness for you!

Possibilise - meaning to make possible
I think I'm gonna make this word exist.

It's weird how this word was possible, but nobody possibilised it yet.

A good way to possibilize a word is in a poem
Re: Words that should be words but aren't
I tend to put too much dynamite in what I write.
Maybe it's not a good idea for me to write poems, or else I'd get into trouble for illegal use of explosive materials.
