Hello. New member - how do I join casual games?

Hello all.

I'm pleased to have discovered the ESO Community, I've been an AoE 3 platyer for many years, though I have just returned to it after a long break. This ESOC Path 5.1.1 seems to be working fine on my PC.

However my question is: how do I join games like in the normal ESO Online route? When I just logged in through the main (EP version) game menu, all of the ~15 listed games have "notequal EP" in the game title?

Hello, welcome to ESOC!

When you open the patch launcher it should give you the option to launch "ESOC Patch," "Treaty Patch," or the "Official Patch." What you are looking for is the Official Patch.

ESOC Patch is mainly only used by high level players or for competitive tournaments, where game balance is very important, so you're probably better off sticking to the official patch for now unless you're PR25+.

One other question: please elaboarte on how I can play with standard TAD (ie non-ptach) players? I just joined a game and the host wasn't an EP player. So this has confused me as to how the EP is utlised against non-EP players?

@swol_patrol that is what the launcher options are for. Original is the normal TAD 1.03 Patch, by launching that you can play with all other players, by launching the EP Patch (the leftmost button), you can only play vs others that launched the EP, hence the "unequal EP" thing. Most games are hosted by normal TAD players and you get a CRC Version Mismatch with them when you have modded content, i.e. the Patch, as i said you can avoid that by launching the normal TAD, but you can't play on EP vs someone without EP.

are there any mods here? a new member is asking a questions and the thread gets insta derailed from known shitposters like callen or kabul. this forum can be so annoying sometimes. i reported some posts in the past and never got an answer from the mods. what are they even doing?
