So the crazy map thread got me inspired to make another map. I really liked the idea of having no food on the map but you start with a farm. The only problem is that the map feels too empty without hunts/berries. Any idea of what I could add?

Unfortunately, the map script doesn't decide which treasures are placed. They're part of a set specified in another file. All the script can do is choose the difficulty of treasures. There probably is a way to specify what treasures are placed but it would require a much deeper knowledge of how the game was put together (which I don't have).

I think one of the reasons the map feels empty is because you used only 1 texture of terrain. Maybe add multiple? You can also add cliffs and depressions to do away with the monotonicity of the map.

I agree with Ashvin, I think the terrain type can make a huge difference to the impression if you use more than one, even if they're kind of similar.

How about some lone trees towards the edges of the map?
And maybe some useless "dead" items, like dead trees, bushes etc? Especially small ones would be nice in too open areas

I think ESOC Indonesia can be a good map to test this. After removing all hunts and berries and mines, playstyle will change drastically.
