Decks's alphabetical sorting

Hi everyone,
Playing 1v1, team, water, turtle... I used to have many decks for each of my HCs.
Because of that, I can take a long time to find the deck I want, and sometimes even get the wrong.

I find a way to sort these decks in alphabetical order, and I hope it can help others.

To do this, add the 3 folowing files to the data directory in the game installation directory ( for steam game version , should be here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age Of Empires 3\bin\data)

uihomecitydeck.xml

uihcdeckbuildereso.xml

uihcdeckbuilder.xml

If these files already exist, I advise you to save the old ones.

At the beginning, I asked for @zoom to implement this in EP , he logically said it was a good idea but not a priority.
It would be cool to add it to ep, but by posting here, it is also proposed to RE players.

If we included this in EP and messed up the current locations of all of my decks I would be mildly sad

Would be awesome to create your own custom sort.

And DE should have folders, filters, sorts and search options.

For some reason my French 1v1 decks got moved to the end of the list behind a bunch of a treaty decks, so I simply deleted all the treaty decks

Thanks, it is working. The only problem i had so far was that i can hardly read the decks on Nilla anymore, because of the color

*Change the textcolor="180 180 180" to textcolor="0 0 0" (rgb from 0-255) in the deckbuildereso. file - no clue if you can split it, i just changed it to ~ 150 150 150 now
The Ekanta nilla UI uses uihomecitydeck.xml, but if i change the color there it doesn't work.

I don't think those files are used for decks in DE, my guess is they're left over from legacy.

What does this mean? Should copypasta that line or?

that was what kynesie changed for legacy. The files for decks in DE are very different so that won't work.

it took 2 years for them to let you rename a deck.... and they still managed to release that with a bug. I'm not expecting anything here


tbh this feels very autohotkeyable. the original order is in a file so you don't even need to read text

if you find a way to modify DE's files and if it works
it then allows you to add some macro if you have imagination
not sure they let us do that
