incog's discourse

Post by iNcog »

Hey all,

I've been toying around with this idea for a little while now, so here goes.

I'm looking to start uploading some content to youtube again. I thought about FPVODs and other stuff and decided that the best kind of content I could think was an easy-going podcast-style thing. So it's not like hardcore game analysis, but just going over some basics about the game and thinking about it out loud. Do I know the game very well? No, not really. But I know it enough that I can break it down in a basic way. I mean basic enough that high level players will not be interested in the analysis because it's already second nature/obvious to them. I'm especially looking for the moment games are decided. Target audience is lower-level players, new and old. Especially newer players though. ESO population is coming up slightly and DE is right around the corner. I feel like this is a good time to start putting out some content. I can't stream right now, so youtube it is.

With that primary focus in mind, I'm probably going to end up talking about anything that comes to mind. Whether it has to do with the game itself or the community, I'll just chit chat about it if it comes to mind. The foundation of every episode will most likely be a replay. The replay is either the focus of what's being talked about or it's being played in the background while I talk about other things. I'm not sure about the exact direction to take this project, but hopefully it's fun enough. I'm going for an upload a week, I think this is an okay pace for me.

Feedback is more than welcome and appreciated.

Shameless self plug again, in my own thread.

I have a bunch of stuff recorded, set for a release every Wednesday and Saturday. I think that soon I will briefly stepping away from replays and going over very, very basic things. When that becomes the case, ESOC won't quite be target audience anymore since most are familiar with these concepts. see:
I'm still in the process of steering this project, but I have a few ideas. Including things that would be interesting across the entire spectrum of aoe3 players.

Just something that popped into my mind, you could have guests on to talk on specific topics, e.g. have Kaiser on and talk with him about all concerning micro and positioning, or diarouga and talk with him about strategies and advantages you can have in the game, or Hazza and talk with him about multitasking/apm. Maybe tabben/Lukas have wisdom to share about how to improve your play (since they got quite good in relatively short time), or a history lesson of the patches since 2008 with H2O/Sam/GS/Zuta etc. Also dont forget me or my fellow big sharks (@Qosashvili93 @jesus3), we have a lot of wisdom too, especially wisdom on how not to play. :D

Appreciate the insight. I am actually very interested in having guests now and then. I haven't quite figured out how to articulate that yet though. right now I am trying to teach myself proper video editing skills. and also how to be more articulate and plan things better. once I better myself I will pestering others :)

For the few people who are following this somewhat. Firstly, I appreciate anyone who tunes in to these. They're fun for me to record and make, and I intend to continue doing so. I don't mind a smaller audience, as long as a few people get a kick out of what I do, so be it! That's totally fine.

Now, earlier I said that I intended to release something every Wednesday and Saturday. That is still my intent, however I will be busy with a few things in the coming weeks, including a visit from my dear mother and other fun things aoe3 related. So I will release something this Saturday and then another thing in the coming Saturday. I'm out of recordings after that. I was experimenting with another direction for things but ultimately scrapped it all since I couldn't produce anything I was satisfied with. I'll most likely be sticking to the current format of replay + improv talking; I'm looking to articulate information for new players nonetheless.
