Please lock the thread. All of my videos are down and as far as I'm concerned, there's nothing to discuss in here anymore.edeholland wrote:I can lock the thread if you want to, but it can also prove useful to talk about some of your or others' casting. Your call.PancakePrincess wrote:By the way, is there a way for me to delete the thread or is that not possible on ESOC? It doesn't have much of a use anymore.
Thank you!

Yep. It took me a long time to get that just right. Looking back at it now is...painful. Gotta live a little to learn a lot!deleted_user wrote:The Pirates of the Caribbean theme song at the start is every bit of great looooooolZutazuta wrote:@PancakePrincess Need a pick-me-up? Watch this:

This is super sad to hear, If you ever want to jump in and co cast some games for ESOC the door is always there. There will always be a few dicks online and if they dont like it then they dont have to watch. I'm sure the majority of your viewers appreciated your casting and youtube videos.

How can a victor_swe cast be bad though, i don't see that being possible.Zutazuta wrote:Yep. It took me a long time to get that just right. Looking back at it now is...painful. Re: PancakePrincess casts
Do not be discouraged by one guy. Everyone dislikes their voice - science proves this. It's called voice confrontation. Other people do enjoy your voice and your casts. I watched your cast of my game vs Jesus and the casting was great. Your casting was very informative and you made an effort to describe what was going to happen in the game.
I do understand where you are coming from. I casted tournament games myself long ago (you can still find youtube videos if you dig good enough) and back then I didn't like the sound of my voice either. But a few weeks ago I casted a game or two with Harrison and it was actually tons of fun. While you may feel discouraged right now, please do not give up on your hobby!

I'm sorry to hear that, people on the internet can be particularly cruel especially to those who don't fit in the stereotypical gamer demographic. It's completely understandable if that kind of negative attention drives you away from casting. However, I will say the amount of people who enjoyed what you did was far greater than the trolls. If you ever decide it's something you would like to get into again there are many here who enjoy what you have to offer.PancakePrincess wrote:The gist goes like this: I was told that I sound like a guy, which is definitely something I don't want to, and that stung a lot. Or rather it still stings. Ergo I decided that I'd rather go back to lurking again and end my short stint in casting.Imperial Noob wrote:What happened here?
I mean if I already get comments like that with like 10-30 viewers per video, I don't want to stick around really. Like don't get me wrong, I'm not angry at that person, since it's what they honestly perceived and I can't blame them for that and my voice is probably really ugly and I should have never casted to begin with, but I'm not the kind of person who deals with things like that well. If it's not related to something super important at least.

Re: PancakePrincess casts
Wtf. How have I not been in this thread?
@PancakePrincess Try to not let negative comments bring you down. Those people aren't offering anything to the community so they need to drag down others to their shit level. Do things that are fun for you to do. If you aren't having fun, then don't do it. If you enjoy casting, have fun and do it. Haters gonna hate. I, for one, am always excited when there are new people getting involved. It especially makes me happy when said people are women. There are too few of us represented in the community. I look forward to hearing you cast a tourney game on esoctv.

Re: PancakePrincess casts
Hey everyone! First of all, I wanted to thank everyone for their kind words (before and after the thread closed) and wanted to say that I'm sorry for overreacting. I'm a crybaby at times, but I try to handle those things better in the future.
Second, in the spirit of the thread:
I hope everyone has fun watching these (even if the second one is kinda bad). Also, if anyone could point me towards more team game reps, I'd be mighty thankful!

Re: PancakePrincess casts
No need to apologize for how you feel. Some people lack any semblance of empathy and don't think of how their words/actions will affect others. You didn't overreact. You took measures to protect yourself from feeling hurt by stopping that which made you vulnerable to criticism. Your feelings and emotions are valid. Anyone who is reading this, please take this into yourself. Do what makes you happy and feel free to protect yourself from negativity if you need to.
Hugs. I may be a bit tipsy.
