I'm very pleased to present you the AOE3 Summer Championship map pool!
This time we decided to include exclusively custom maps in the set, because in this way we believe we can provide the most competitive and enjoyable experience for both players and viewers.
The map selection is the result of some dedicated work toward that specific goal but perhaps more importantly it is the fruit of all the community suggestions. As you will notice in fact, certain maps explicitly try to satisfy some of the most frequent requests.
Once again a big thanks goes to Aizamk who gifted us with the excellent advanced user interface features, certainly the biggest and harder to pull off part in the whole map making business.

Installation information

ESOC will provide two different packs. One contains only the maps that will be used in the summer tourney, while the other one contains all the ESOC maps so far. Obviously we recommend to downloading the latter :P

AOE3 Summer Championship - Maps Description

Arkansas
This map was also employed in the Spring Championship. We decided to give it another go because it is a well rounded land map which didn't see much playtime. Resource placement have been slightly improved.
Image Image Image
Map Details
 • Trade Route: short, 3 bases
 • Natives: 2 Cherokee and 2 Seminole settlements
Starting Resources (per player)
 • 2 Silver mines
 • 6 Turkeys
 • 1 Nearby herd of Deers
 • A number of trees
Additional Resources
 • 6 Silver mines
 • 8 Deer herds
 • 3 Elk herds
 • 2 berry patches
 • Plenty of trees
Baja California

This is a new addition to the ESOC map list. The sea on both sides encourages water based play but land resources are generous enough to allow a more standard approach.
Image Image Image
Map Details
 • Trade Route: long, 3 bases:
 • Natives: 2 Apache settlements
Starting Resources (per player)
 • 2 Silver mines (one a bit away)
 • 5 pronghorns
 • 1 Nearby herd of pronghorns
 • 2 berry bushes
 • A number of trees
Additional Resources
 • 8 Silver mines
 • 8 small pronghorn herds
 • 5-6 small bighorn herds
 • Many trees
 • 18 shoals of fish (per side)
 • 3 whales (per side)
Bengal

ESOC's first pick for Land map without a TP line. The map layout encourages taking map control while having enough resources in the base for a variety of strategies. A cliff separates the two dangerously close bases shifting battle to the bottom of the map.
Image Image Image
Map Details
 • Trade Route: none
 • Natives: 2 Bhakti temples
Starting Resources (per player)
 • 2 Elephants
 • 1 Silver mine
 • 1-2 Nearby herds of nilgai
 • 2 Berry bushes
 • A number of trees
Additional Resources
 • 9-10 Silver mines
 • 15 Nilgai herds
 • Lot of trees
Cascade Range

ESOC's second pick for no-TP-land. Unlike Bengal this map is more open and has many avenues of attack. Every resource is scarce and well spaced. Lakes on the sides are fishable and may be the only option as land resources dry up.
Image Image Image
Map Details
 • Trade Route: none
 • Natives: 2 Nootkaand 2 Klamath settlements
Starting Resources (per player)

Additional Resources
 • 10 Tin mines
 • 10 small Elk herds
 • 8 berry patches
 • Plenty of trees
 • 6 fish shoals per lake
High Plains

A throw back map to ES's Great Plains. High Plains is the definition of standard, a land based map with TP's . This specific version combines the cliffs of the first version with the wide open layout of the second, giving players some chances to protect from the otherwise overwhelming raids.
Image Image Image
Map Details
 • Trade Route: long, 5 bases
 • Natives: 2 Cheyenne and 2 Comanche villages
Starting Resources (per player)
 • 4 Bisons
 • 2 Silver mines
 • 1 Nearby herd of Bisons
 • 1 Nearby herd of Pronghorns
 • A number of trees
Additional Resources
 • 6 Silver mines
 • 5 Bison herds
 • 3 Pronghorn herds
 • Plenty of trees
Hudson Bay

ESOC's take on Hudson Bay was an easy pick. This map has proven to be a big favorite among players mostly due to its reliability. A winter and summer version provides some more variety. Sea food have been buffed slightly, by popular demand. The winter version still focuses more on the land play.
Image Image Image
Map Details
 • Trade Route: medium length, 3 or 4 bases
 • Natives: 2 Cree and 2 Huron settlements
Starting Resources (per player)
 • 4 Moose/MuskOx
 • 2 Silver mines (1 a bit away)
 • 1 Nearby herd of Elks/Caribou
 • 1 Nearby herd of Moose/MuskOx

Additional Resources
 • 6 Silver mines
 • 4-7 Moose/MuskOx herds
 • 2-6 Elk/Caribou herds

Indonesia

ESOC's first water map. This map not only features a main island completely surrounded by sea but also 4 isles where to transfer part of your economy or place some strategic outpost.
The free catamaran at start will help scouting the sea and moving across the map faster.
Land play is not to be forgotten though. Players start with a free saloon/firepit/monastery which undoubtedly increases the range of options at their disposal. This considered, the extra coin crates at start may come in handy.
Image Image Image
Map Details
 • Trade Route: none
 • Natives: 2 Sufi Mosques and 2 Jesuit villages
Starting Resources (per player)
 • 2 Elephants
 • 1 Copper mine
 • 1 Nearby herd of Serows
 • 2 Berries
 • A number of trees

 • 2 Gold mines
 • 9 Serow herds
 • 8 Berry patches
 • Lot of trees
 • Lot of fish
 • 10 whales
Manchuria

Another big favorite that will be seeing play in the Summer Championship. The map seems straightforward yet there are many options that make it a memorable addition to any map pool. Sea resources have been adjusted to make it more desirable.
Image Image Image
Map Details
 • Trade Route: short, one with 3 bases or two with 2 bases each
 • Natives: 1 Shaolin and 1 Zen temples, or 2 Shaolin temples, or 2 Zen temples
Starting Resources (per player)
 • 6 Marco Polo sheeps
 • 2 Silver mines
 • 1 Nearby herd of Serows
 • A number of trees
Additional Resources

 • 2 Gold mines
 • 7 Serow herds
 • 3 Muskdeer herds
 • 12 Yaks
 • Plenty of trees

Tibet
Last but not least ESOC brings a unique take on a land map. Featuring 3 different height levels, this map certainly have lot of paths available to the players. Expanding here will be the real challenge as all the extra resources are fairly distant from the starting base. There are also two long trade routes that may be worth taking. We hope to see some epic games on this map.
Image Image Image
• Natives: 1 udasi and 1 Shoalin temples
Starting Resources (per player)

Last but not least ESOC brings a unique take on a land map. Featuring 3 different height levels, this map certainly have lot of paths available to the players. Expanding here will be the real challenge as all the extra resources are fairly distant from the starting base. There are also two long trade routes that may be worth taking. We hope to see some epic games on this map.

wow!!! Nice variety of maps overall, and with random maps in every series, this tournament is surely going to be better and bigger than spring one :)
Also u didn't mention the sea resources in Hudson bay.

Make sure you put them in the My Documents/AoE3/RM3 directory, NOT the Program Files/AoE3/RM3.

Would be awesome if Ryzon could sneak these maps onto the rated map section. I'm kinda sick of losing just cuz I don't have any hunts while playing vs early game OP civs.

We asked this plenty of times on this forum. We can make a patch but ryzon doesn''t care.

This to me is a key reason why this game will have a successful revitalization. The creation of these awesome new maps makes the game "new" again.

Awesome work!!
