Aizamk vs. Mitoe - Saturday at 17:30 GMT on ESOCTV

Our first pro contender for this weekend is a beloved elifent known for his quirky strategies, @Aizamk; he may as well be the very definition of the phrase "if it's stupid but it works, it isn't stupid." This magical elifent has the ability to pull off seemingly impossible build orders and unit compositions in tournaments, to the point that his opponents ain't even mad. That said, Aizamk had a rather close Round of 16 match against @samwise12, who only allowed him to move on to the quarterfinals after a complete best-of-7 series.

On the other corner is our perennial birthday boy, @Mitoe. This humble and kind-hearted Canadian has recently been quoted saying stuff like "I am so bad at this game," but make no mistake; his #6 seed was no fluke and Mitoe can be a vicious opponent on the battlefield. For instance, he has demonstrated that he is more than capable during the Round of 16 with a solid 4-2 victory over @The_Lastsamurai.

Despite both being familiar faces in our community, the only time Aizamk and Mitoe met in a 1v1 tournament setting was at the semi-finals of the first WarChiefs Classic, where Aizamk emerged victorious with a 4-2 score. However, keep in mind that this was more than two years ago with a different patch and a different set of rules. These two are entering uncharted territory and the series could go either way.

snowww vs. Lukas_L99 - Sunday at 15:00 GMT on ESOCTV

snowww is a veteran AOE3 player who is more decorated than a North Korean general and he has already had a long journey in this tournament so far. In fact, he is the sole survivor from the qualifiers who has made it to the quarter-finals. Most notably, snowww faced off against a fellow German player and our #2 seed in this tournament, @lordraphael, during the Round of 16 and he managed to come out on top with a hard-fought 4-3 victory.

Fate is a cruel mistress, however, and snowww will have to compete against yet another fellow German, @Lukas_L99. After becoming bored with reigning supreme in the treaty scene, Lukas has been making his name in supremacy tournaments throughout 2019. In the Round of 16, Lukas scored a decisive 4-1 win over his opponent @Oliveza. Given Lukas' relatively new arrival in the supremacy scene, snowww and Lukas have never faced off against each other, at least not in a tournament setting. While snowww is certain to have more experience than his opponent, he is also rusty and Lukas is the higher seed of the two for good reason.

Kaiserklein vs. Knuschelbär - Sunday at 18:00 GMT on ESOCTV

Is @Kaiserklein's reign of terror just beginning? Kaiser has been riding high for the past few months since winning the Grand Tour Season 2 Playoffs. He then went on to win the WarChiefs Classics II as well and now he is looking to crown himself as a seasonal champion for the first time. He looks almost unstoppable too, seeing how he comfortably defeated his Round of 16 opponent @KINGofOsmane with a 4-0 sweep.

Still, if there's anyone who knows Kaiserklein's current play style best, it may be our silent warrior Knuschelbär. @knusch was Kaiser's opponent in the semi-finals of the two aforementioned tournaments and while he couldn't exactly stop Kaiser in his tracks, he put up a good fight each time despite being a team player at his core. So far in this tournament, Knusch managed to win a close 4-3 series against @pérez during the Round of 16. However, his record against our #1 seed seems to be consistently improving and if he plays his cards right to the late game where his macro-ability truly shines, Knuschelbär will give Kaiserklein more than a run for his money this time.

The scientific term for China creating free units is Mitoe-sis.

I intend all my puns.
