Port are not strong on land because of that. Prob not better than spain FI imo.

Honestly I fail to see how +100 xp in colonial and +100xp in fortress is going to suddenly make Ports OP on standard maps (water maps are a different problem obviously).
ESOC : came for the game, stayed for the drama.

That's a big buff to Ports for sure. Maybe they can nerf their water. but it's a nice buff to boomy options. could be good. maybe make it 70xp

The TC thing is like 2 more xp passages on a map like high plains (actually a bit more now that TPs are nerfed). It's quite a huge buff.
The main problem is that the win rates don't match civ strenghts at the moment. Port is by no mean the weakest civ. It's pretty much on the same level of other semi FF civs.
Then again building wagons do usually provide an xp bounty so it's fine in some regard. It makes more sense than the nonsense 5% food gathering boost.

The change to vills to gather resources in LOS is not good.
Now vills go hunt dead animals even if they're not the closest animal. It's both less efficient resource wise and risky if the dead animal is exposed (happens rather frequently when you bring hunts from far away).

They implemented my idea of giving the aztec war chief an area attack, shame its not the standard swashbuckler, though that might make him too strong age 2 I guess.

So, if I don't have an xbox live account (I use steam), I can't keep any of the avatars unlocked during the special event, am I understanding this correctly? Do I have to make an account, and is there any way to link it to my game on steam?

Oh wait, the green portion is only for forums and online services. They need the permission. Games don't, you just login while ingame and it is automatically linked.
Every time I log in, I have to manually click on the top right "Log in" button so it automatically logs me in without having to type anything. Sometimes when I wait in the main menu, it logs me in too, without clicking. So it saves the login credentials (until you log out and clear them), but I have to manually log in with aoe3 almost all the time. With Aoe2:DE, I don't have to do this.
Using Steam for the game and Xbox Live to login both go hand in hand flawlessly. It works the same in Aoe2:DE and I could keep all my unlocked stuff so far

For anyone who thinks the port buff is small, consider that 100xp is aprox what you get in 2 minutes from a tp.
Having this new 100xp at 5 mins +100xp at 8, is equivalent to having a free tp in transition to colonial(4mins) and it getting destroyed at early fortress(8mins).
