I just hope DE is not going to implement all of the EP changes. Right now it is a big clusterfuck.

Queued up for a few last games on ESO on the main squeeze (Japan)

I have two monitors, one is 4k and the other is 1440p. Legacy AoE3 is nearly unplayable in 4k (text is too small to read), and I'm too lazy to figure out how to make the game fullscreen on my 1440p monitor even though it would probably take about a minute of looking through windows, so my solution is to put the game in windowed mode on my second monitor at 1440p, but AoE3 doesn't have a way to lock the cursor by default and the Windows bar sometimes shows up and sometimes it doesn't, so I can't scroll the map with the mouse and I can't see how much gold I have and I can't see how many idle villagers I have.

First game against a 1st lieut playing Ottomans (of course); they build a barracks in-base and Jan/Hussar rush but it works anyway because I forgot that you're supposed to make units in this game.
Second game against an MS playing Spanish; they say "good luck" around 7 minutes in and do the Church FF with Halberdiers. This gets smashed handily because this time I remembered to make units.
Third game against a 2nd lieut playing British; this time they're the one that forgets that you're supposed to make units and instead try to do some VC boom but it's pretty useless. They turtle up with seven outposts so I go Industrial for Morutarus, and I'm wondering why they're wasting time by not leaving and it's starting to hit 10 am PT and I'm starting to suspect I won't get another game in. But then I accidentally exit out of the game because I was playing in windowed mode and even when I'm 200 score up I'm macroing hard and prone to misclicking.
Last and final game hits at 9:56 am, 4 minutes before servers go offline. It's a Spanish sergeant. They FF and it doesn't work, so they send a fort, turtle up, and revolt. It also doesn't work.

10/10 great game

I logged in last night. Didn't play any games because I would need to get hotkeys set up and felt like too much of a hassle. Amsterda was hosting a 1v1 nr20, his treaty pr was major so I guess he got quite a few nr20 games vs noobs in the weeks before the servers got taken down. Despite not logging onto ESO for four years everything felt so comfortable, it felt like I never left. There was a guy hosting chat rooms claiming to be the invite spammer, but I didn't get spammed when I logged on so I guess he was lying.

Nah, sounds like they played it correctly. If anything they probably didn't stay in age 1 for long enough.

He wasn't actually lying. I asked him to do it to me and he did haha. He even shared the code :hehe: :hehe: . He has nothing to lose. See down below:

Seems I'm not the only one who played a nostalgia game.

This was mine, I actually recorded it on OBS on a whim. I had no hotkeys but it was still fun to play.

it's definitely oddly sad

The other crappy thing is that you can't buy legacy aoe3 anymore. so even voobly/gameranger got sorta shafted there

Oh yeah I forgot to mention my hotkeys weren't set up, and I usually rebind "B" to "eject from building" but the default for that is town bell so when I tried to micro villagers through my TC at the beginning of the first game I instead furiously rang the bell six times and that set the mood for the rest of the games

I agree that the British player was doing what the intellectuals would call "directionally correct", but the execution was lacking.
