I''m surprised there''s no:diarouga wrote:Japan has been nerfed btw, they said they would only nerf iro/otto/sioux. That might be because some players in the fp team lost too many jap mirrors

Anyway, I m just bad because GS/garja are just fixing stuffs calling it ?bugs?.
The shogunate nerf isn't a nerf, they call it a bug fix lol.
There's even something funnier haha, they buffed an age3 azzy poli which was bad (1 noble hut) and called it a bug lmao. Now the poli is twice better and it was already the one used to age3.
I also think that 5 coyottes shipment in age2 is too bad and should be 1? coyottes.

I never wanted that age up option to be buffed btw, no idea who came up with that. Also stop being salty just cause you can't lame the FI anymore.

Either way, the patch is made so that it''s easy to update' so it''ll be possible and easy to adjust things in the future. Changes were made to be minimal in the first iteration and it''s hard to touch Otto (as they''re a very strange civ) without touching their uniqueness and without nerfing them to the point where they aren''t playable.
What would you have suggested?
Kinda just chiming in, why not give abus a small negative multiplier vs other *li (skirms etc) so they trade more fairly considering the increase in range they got?

Yeah ofc xD
That's so funny still, mechs you don t like are nerfed and azzy, which is a top tier civ is buffed lol.

I wont go into details but the idea is that Ottos economy still isnt very good compared to other civs. So their units are a bit better to compensate. There are other things to take into account, such as maps (better resources, some maps dont have TPs, etc.) and other civilizations being adjusted themselves.
I would wholeheartedly suggest playing the patch and having everyone see for themselves how the new Otto feels. Remember that Abus basically have a -15% nerf to damage in prolonged fights, whereas they retain their guerrilla strength of being able to hit and run (with siege damage).
All in all, a LOT was changed with this patch and its pretty difficult to playtest everything as well as wed like to. When you end up changing a lot of different parameters at once, its hard to hit the target right-on with the first shot. Id even say its unrealistic to, since a handful of balance testers wont figure out the game as well (or as fast) as hundreds of active players.
The most important aspect of the patch isnt necessarily the balance changes which are brought to the table, its that we now have the ability to care for AoE3 as a game: improved maps, new maps, balance changes where necessary, anti-cheating measures and so on.

maybe you mean mechs that give imperial bonus in industrial and that 3/4 of fan patch team agree withdiarouga wrote:Yeah ofc xD

The goal of the balance changes is to change the game as little as possible.
I was not too involved in balance. I mainly care about the Map pools and cheating measures which are going to make the game more accessible again.
Balance changes are a starting point and are intentionally small.

The entire point of that change is to make them more viable on maps without a TR. Your above suggestion would make them even less viable!wearegood wrote:no mam shipment, increase mosque cost with same xp.

Yucatan was looked at extensively and it is simply too fucking awful to be included with the edits available. If a new edit were to be made that is sufficiently improved it may be added to the map pool at a later time.shaolinstar wrote:Please replace Cascade range and California by Yucatan and Bayou (? Bengal).
I would like to add that the map pool is weighted: Maps like Cascade Range are merely half as likely to spawn as maps like High Plains or Baja California, for instance. All in all, there are three degrees of weighting, as I recall.

The Shogunate adjustment is incorrectly listed as a civilization balance change. While it is in truth also a balance change, it is first and foremost a bug fix ?? if nothing else for the simple reason that it's the motivation behind the change's inclusion ?? just as is the case with the Aztecs' Fortress Age "The Shaman" politician and indeed the Japanese Isolation Consulate Ally change...

I would also like to address the Ottomans changes:
Upon testing, the team arrived at the conclusion that, with the changes made, on this new map-pool Ottomans seem fairly balanced. If bad comes to worst and it is indeed the case that they are unacceptably strong (which appears unlikely given the previous information), rest assured it will be addressed in a future update.
I would like to remind everyone not to jump to conclusions, speculating without proper play-testing.

Nice read, thank you everyone who has work for that.
I don't understand the japan shogunate xp fix. According the data I got, it was already 600xp at industrial and was at 1600xp at imperial though.
What did you fix?
Thanks

Yes it should have been that way, but in fact it used to give 1600xp in industrial just like it does in imperial.adv wrote:Nice read, thank you everyone who has work for that.
