Last tourney wasn't that bad because placements on the bracket were fine

If it was only ELO, we should see bunch of guys playing only their main civ and cherry-picking their opponents before the seeding.
I think this way is better. And whatever, seeding is not so big deal. If you wanna win you gotta win them all anyway.

Basically 1st with last, 2nd with 2nd last, etc. Mid seeded players should be facing each other. Can also anticipate a shuffle method but not more than +- 3 seeds imo.

correct me if i've misunderstood, but i think what you're describing is what we already do

Right now top seed placement seems to be (from top to bottom) 1 4 2 3. It should be 1 4 3 2. Then other seeds should follow the same logic. I guess +-3 spost shuffling is even too much for top seeds. Perhaps seeds until 8 shouldn't have any shuffling. Maybe even up to 16 since Elo ranking changes from tourney to tourney anyway.
Correct placement without any shuffling should be:

1 32
16 17
12 21
8 25
4 29
13 20
9 24
5 28
6 27
10 23
14 19
3 30
7 26
11 22
15 18
2 31

That's wrong. With a good bracket, you only have to beat 2 top players, with a bad bracket you have to beat 4.

Thatā€™s only a display change. The seeding and matchups follow the same.

I checked the rest of the bracket and it's not the same. 1st and 2nd should be placed at the extremes of the bracket. And other seeds consequently, unless there is some intended shuffling.
Please look at my post with correct seeding for most fair bracket placement.

@Garja it is as Noel said. The #2 Seed will play the #31 then the winner of #15/18, then the winner of #7/10, then Seed #3 or whoever beat the #3

Also something is wrong with your writeup. #8 and #12 should not face each other in RO16. It shoud be #8 vs #9

Ye in the end placement is just fine. Just seeds are a bit weird due to the tourney results.

Ye but you shouldn't really make this reasoning while you're in tourney. If you think you're the best you will win anyway, regardless. Also brackets are correct. Perhaps in a mono civ environment some players look better seeds than others who were seeded higher.
