I've been trying to run my original 2005 disks of age of empires on my laptop to try and see the original patch in all it's glory, unforunately the disks are awfully scratched and unable to install, so does anyone know where i can get my hands on the original release patch from 2005? And how i'd go about downloading and using it?

Were stables 250 or 300 wood in the trail version as well, as i distinctly remember them being more expensive?

Jans and Abus were busted as hell. Far stronger then they are on RE. France started with 1 extra CDB. 400 wood age up was 500. Crossbows cost 60 wood and yes the implications against Ottomans are pretty obvious. Game was a royal royal mess back then *shudder*.

Also Agents were in TWC. By that point stables were 200w. TPs only became 200 in the very last patch by RE after ES fell.

When ever I have done that - it has always updated the game when trying to launch it. So not sure you can launch it in the original state

I think I have the original disks back at my parents home. I'll see if I can make some ISO files for you.

As far as I remember, it only starts updating when you connect to ESO.

Maaannn, if people think ger is OP now, imagine them with mercantilism costing 1k gold, the card that made merc shipment free (or much less, cant remember) 20 range WW (with skirm only doing base damage vs them) and a 2 falc shipment in fortress! Hahah oh and no exp penalty

MS wanted to make Germany a 300% Handicap civ but they quickly realised that 130% was enough.

I still have the CD i bought somewhere in 2010 and installed it on another pc recently, it told me it was on version 1.0.0. I couldnt log into ESO, but it didnt auto-update, i had to download the newest patch from agesanctuary iirc.

If you do a new install with your internet off, it should be original patch, right?

Get the cracked torrent version, I'm 100% sure one of them is the original because every time I download it I get crc on gameranger.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Ugh. Seriously no. Unless we want lots of mirrors. Pilgrim smack down was bad enough for this. It sounds like fun until people solve the meta (and it’s already solved) and then it’s the same thing bashing against itself over and over.

@Imperial Noob It was Turkish Dog. A believed to be racist slur. They might have gotten away with Pagan.

Cast with the "You abandon your colony" right in the middle of your screen for full nostalgia!
