I recently moved to a new apartment and I'm currently using a temporary wireless 4G router with 90% failed to join games rate. I'm planning to hire a permanent fibre optic provider and I would like to know if there's a way I can choose the ''less likely FTJ router''. Maybe it's a stupid question but it's an important call.
And before you ask why I'm not hiring the same service I had, the reason is that provider offers mobile+fiber+TV packs which I'm not interested in.
Thanks.
Can I know if my router will not FTJ beforehand?

Just as a temp fix, you can use a VPN like Windscribe, worked when i used mobile data

Ye, a little more lag is better than not being to play though

I guess it helps if your router/ISP allows you to port forward. That fixed some of my FTJ issues.

I was in a similar situation. The games would start to lag when the total military count went above 100 while using 4G + VPN.
Now I got fiber, asked the company beforehand if the router supported port forwarding, they said it did. Was a bit hard to find it in the settings since they have their own firmware installed in it, but still doable.
In the end I gave their router back as after the installation I realized that it was just a regular router not the optical modems that they used to install with fiber yesteryear, so just used my own router instead. Saved €41 right there.

You should ask @Victor_swe . I’ve heard he has a hack he picked up from @Challe to solve FTJ. Something about 8 person qs and panic unplugging your pc 10 times.
