error this room is not compatible with esoc patch

can't access any game on esoc ... aoe3 on steam - no firewall - no anti-virus...

i have normal acces to 1 room on top...
i got this eror : error this room is not compatible with esoc patch

eso works normal...

What can i do?

I am not certain, but it sounds like you might be attempting to join a RE game lobby while you have launched on the EP (esoc patch). There is a small learning curve to using the EP, but once you get it going, its worth it. Also, be sure to update to the most recent version of the EP if you have not already.

@clapotis sounds normal. Most rooms are not hosted on ESOC Patch, therefore they are not compatible with it and cannot be joined.

You can always launch RE, and not EP, to join other games.

I got him all taken care of and he is now enjoying both RE and EP games.

I've got the same issue aswell.

I'm launching the Esoc patch and most, if not all, the games have the "≠" sign in front of them. Every time I try to join i'm getting the "This Room is not compatible with Esoc patch" message.
What bothers is that the games I see are playing on EP maps such as Esoc Standart Maps so I'm assuming they're not RE games just another version of EP. Which version of EP are they? How can join these games?

I'm quite new to age of empires and dealing with all that. If anyone would take the time to guide through all this I would really appreciate it.

This is just a bug I'm fairly sure, it's been like that for as long as I've played EP.

You aren't doing anything wrong. The map sets are renamed on EP, so those rooms you're seeing aren't actually hosting ESOC map sets.
