Mouse-3 Hotkey Bug

Hey Guys,

I use "Mouse 3" (which is the scroller click) as "find explorer" hotkey in vanilla and it works smoothly.

The problem I face in TAD is when I assign any hotkey to mouse 3, for example find explorer, on one click it selects the explorer but centers the camera screen somewhere else. (most probably last notification) Same happens on double clicking.

Although I have disabled "center camera on find units" option. Aslo tried enalbling it.
Tried resetting to default but doesnt work.
currently I want it to use as "find all of selected type" hotkey for use in group hotkeys.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hey, sounds like you just need to unmap or remap "Find Last Notification", which is in the "Find Unit Hotkeys" section.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I have selected another hotkey for finding last notification, and selected the option "allow conflicts"
Also tried disabling it while using another hotkey for last notif.

I use this hotkey to stop the melee / shoot mode
I have the feeling that sometimes it doesn't work properly

Any other commonly used Hotkey for finding all of selected type units?

I am basically trying to find a best combination of control group hotkeys.
Is there any efficient combination for these hotkeys? Or doesn't matter which hotkeys are used.

There is a hotkey to find all the units (and buildings) of selected type. It's ctrl+maj+a by default, but I changed it to ctrl+a because I use it often (to delete wall pilars and group my units for example).

I'm not a big fan of mouse hotkeys though. I think that keyboard hotkeys are better because you already have so many things to do with your mouse.

I use "A ,S, D" for groups 1-3 selection respectively and "alt-a", "alt-s", and "alt-d" and so on to create groups 1-3 respectively.

I find the default control groups 1-5 to work well enough.

If you want to be a top 8 player however you must use 4+ control groups at any given moment and this is where you start running into limitations of maximum perficientur hominum. You could use groups 6-9 (requires finger extensions and regular stretching exercises). Personally I just moved those groups to F1-F4 keys.

That's very unusual, but if you're used to it, and have keys for your other hotkeys (attack move, buildings, training units etc), that's fine.

Ye with some civs (China, Spain, France, Brit, Port) you need 4 groups if you want to be control your units easily. With the other civs, 3 unit groups are enough. You also need at least 3 groups for your production builds (TC, rax, stable), unless you use the game hotkeys.

Can u give an idea about your settings(Group Control) so that I can try them too?
