NA Mathematically Eliminated!

As of GUA going 3-2 in the series vs Bwinner, the Mandarin Duck Squad can no longer advance, as they have 15 games remaining and are 15 wins behind second place CMC (and they would lose to CMC under the tiebreak rules even if CMC lose every map). So NA are out.

Amongst the teams that remain alive, SKG have 15 games remaining (3 remaining series), NN and CMC both have 10 games remaining (against each other).
SKG are at 32 wins, NN at 38 and CMC at 35.

SKG will advance if they can tie for 2nd place in wins as they have 2 week wins and have already defeated NN and CMC and so will always win tiebreaks vs them. So if SKG can win 3 more games of their remaining 15 than CMC can from their remaining 10, or 6 more than NN can from their 10, they will advance. Thus if SKG can win 9 games of their remaining 15 games, they are guaranteed to advance, they can advance with fewer wins than this, but that becomes dependent on NN vs CMC scores.

The remaining 2 series between NN and CMC (Kaiser vs Knush and Sam vs Optimus) will determine which of them takes better final position relative to each other, which may determine who advances (if SKG advance). CMC will need to go 7-3 or better in their remaining 10 games to finish ahead of NN.

Personally the least preferable outcomes to me would be either SKG winning each of their 3 series, but being eliminated anyway due to not crushing the Ducks as hard as the other two teams, or SKG advancing and CMC going 6-4 in their remaining games vs NN, and thus defeating NN 13-12, but being eliminated in favour of NN anyway, due to NN beating the Ducks harder. This tournament in general seems to have been a great success so far, but the noncompetitive nature of NA seems to me to have been the only real negative.

Unclear why I posted this, mostly just wanted the score situation clear in my head.

North America is coming out of this a loser. However, if Mitoe moves into more coaching now that he has retired from comp play, maybe some future stars can save our stars and stripes.
