Sorry for saying you sniped in final game, I realize you didn't. Got quite pissed about this pause and forgetting about 20v in the bottom of the map.

GGs, wp.

I liked the jap VS ger build. I wonder about Germany's best response?

1. Do you guys think it is worth it to send 2 vels or 1 frigate to kill his 8 vills on water without protection? Rapha suggested that on stream.

2. Is it at all viable for Germany to play contain/defensive with map control Age3 if they see Jap is going ashi Nagi? As in, 2nd TC mid map, mass skirm/WW, add Jaegers and maybe even BR, get CIR, maybe even a few wall segments mid map to stop the ashis? Meanwhile killing water and shrines should equalise the eco.

Then again, jap could ashi raid and also even go age4 eventually, so Idk.

Kaiser, did you think you made a strat/BO mistake in that game? Maybe not commit as much in age2, make less units, scout him and up Age3 earlier?

1. A vel is worth 1 vill gathering so --8+2 =10
10 vill shipment is indeed great.

2. You usually want to contain vs jap so yea prob good.

are you sure about that ? I though it was much less (like 0.2 vil or smg)

I also personally thought its less but diarouga seems to be right. The disadvantage, I guess, is that when fishing you are kinda of a "sitting duck" in some situations but fishing seems reasonable here.

Well if you don't fish it means that you expect your 2 vels to be better than 2v, so even better.

That's why wicked made a big mistake when he didn't use his 5 vels to fish.

I guess in most cases the fishing doesn't matter because you only ship vels if you either want to attack or defend a fish boom, ie a fight is going on.

But it can be nice once you have decisively won water and/or just sent them VS Jap shipped boats.

Vels and other big warships have the same gather rate as fishing ships, but they aren't upgraded by the dock cards or eco theory card. Catamarans and canoes have a slower gathering rate. More information here: https://wiki.eso-community.net/Gathering_Rates.

Congratulations to Knuschelbär – well played!

Observations on game 1:

Ashi-Nagi seems to do well vs Skirm-WW (particularly with Yamabushi).
Kaiserklein got de_stroyed in the treasure department (something like 1:5).
Kaiserklein flubbed both engagements (deleted all of his WW in the first one; wall did him in).
Kaiserklein flubbed his own wall (left a gap; otherwise could have held).
Kaiserklein shipped Jägers (otherwise could have held, regardless of the wall).
Like Lordraphael said, 2 Caravels would have been good, in this game.

Actually, the dock upgrades as well as rendering plant and fish market seem to affect caravells, since they have the fishing boat tag. Also checks out after a bit of testing. Sorry for offtopic.

Interesting, I didn't know they had that tag. Might mention that in the wiki page.

On that same regard funes for Japan are actually the best fishing ship after you send the 150percent fishing upgrade for warships

Although it's max +5v so I guess this card is never really good

I mean it also affects Canoes so technically it could be more than that, but yeah, shitty card.

edit: well actually it could situationally be good on maps with Hurons like Hudson Bay, considering you would most likely have nats there anyways if you are going to waterboom, and mixing some canoes to secure water might be decent.

Also maybe this should be moved to a separate thread?
