Re: Poll: unit speed implementation for minimized UI
Was wondering whether people might find it ugly, since it clutters the UI with useless text whenever a stationary unit or nothing is selected.
Yeah, this is another UI change we're looking at.

Re: Poll: unit speed implementation for minimized UI
The speed-number should be enough (or maybe add the shoe/speed picture from the japanese wonder, if possible), then you avoid the floating text
Players who use the minimized UI will know, and if you're new you usually don't play with minimized UI.

ok, idk the code/structure behind it
Range resist has a sword/gun symbol, maybe you can add one for speed that was my idea (idk how much you can change)

Re: Poll: unit speed implementation for minimized UI
wow, a 100% pool. you know what to do.
Also, you can just show the number. no need to have the text "speed" stuck there.
new players wont care about the speed, and old players will know that the random unidentified number there is speed.
better then having a random word floating of screen all the time

Re: Poll: unit speed implementation for minimized UI
Honestly, Kaiser has I think the most accessible knowledge of unit speeds because he plays on max UI. It comes up in his casts a lot.
Re: Poll: unit speed implementation for minimized UI
This poll is more one-sided than Zoi's love for Garja.
Pay more attention to detail.

Re: Poll: unit speed implementation for minimized UI
well, Ekanta UI has speed, too, for the record
Re: Poll: unit speed implementation for minimized UI
Well then, I'll do you one better; unit speed on EP 5.1 will be displayed dynamically only for units with resists!
Figured out we can tie it to the resist gadget and make it dynamic that way

Aren't you diligent – and timely!
Re: Poll: unit speed implementation for minimized UI
Is this feature dynamic on the current ESOC UI? For example, after a unit is snared does its speed change or in case of dragbox trick?

I remember it being so in the maximised UI, so it should be

No. It dynamically displays the unit's current base proto speed, meaning that techs affecting base speed are reflected, but auras and current unit actions are not reflected.
