ESOC "standard" map set

Can we fix this map set please? We literally get 50% of no tp maps, or other kind of non standard maps like baja or klondike. I don't mind no tp maps, but at some point it gets boring, especially since the game isn't balanced around them. And it's totally not standard so it makes no sense.

n0el Still can't read the wiki, could you fix that? I'm sure it isn't that hard.

I saw some people talking about making a rated mapset with only current tourney map. I think it could be a good idea

It's the most balanced map however.

Most of the time the treasures are balanced, and both players get good treasures.

Good topic! I'll look into player opinion on this, and react accordingly.

Indeed. Some (myself included) have been wanting to implement this for a long time – along with a few other logical and popular map-sets. Unfortunately, a minority of people cannot tolerate others enjoying such a feature, and it was scrapped. At least we got some improvements, in return.

No tp maps are good. And it is 6 out of 22. Even adding 3-4 non popular maps (mostly because crybases) its' 1/3 at most.
Anyway there is another thread for map report issues.

They are good, but are they standard ?

Yes they are. There is more standard play on Gran Chaco or even Cascade Range than most TPs maps where colonial is often skipped and it's mostly about clickin on shipments.

A standard map is a map where all civs are roughly as strong. No tp maps aren't standard, they favour a few civs. EP wasn't balanced around no tp maps. The same goes for maps with 5 tps, or heavy water maps.
Obviously we can't just keep super standard maps, cause it would be too few of them. But for example, maps like cascade range, klondike, or alaska, are really not standard at all. I don't mind non standard maps, but the set is called "standard maps".
What about this set instead:
ESOC Adirondacks
ESOC Arizona
ESOC Arkansas
ESOC Baja California
ESOC Bengal
ESOC Colorado
ESOC Florida
ESOC Fertile Crescent
ESOC Gran Chaco
ESOC Great Basin
ESOC High plains
ESOC Herald Island
ESOC Hudson Bay
ESOC Jebel Musa
ESOC Kamchatka
ESOC Manchac
ESOC Manchuria
ESOC Malaysia
ESOC Mendocino
ESOC Pampas Sierras
ESOC Tassili
Could arguably remove Baja because it's large/low food/big water and high plains because of 5 tps
Although I do not dislike the current one, this "standard set" seems fine too
