well the only argument for reverting snare IMO is as OP stated - the scout rush. so me thinks this strat should not be randomly nerfed in EP. other than that the removal of snare is good

I believe DAMNIT was the guy who invented that scout rush because he said that there's no real counter to these advanced scouts.

If it was indeed good I would've seen in sometime in the past 10 years XD

Well, I don't mind removing snare from nat units in age1 but we already nerfed the nat treasures.
Anyway, I do think the issue is related to warrior/non warrior. The scout is a support unit and just like other support units shouldn't have snare.

Of course removing the snare would be instead some other nerf. I'd like nats to do full damage to explos but without snare, and just keep a multiplier vs vils.
I don't see what's wrong with deciding "warriors" (and really it's just inca and nootka) shouldn't snare in age 1. Especially when stuff like tomahawks, disciples, pets etc, don't snare.

I consider disciples, pets, etc. support units, hence the no snare.
Also personally I'm not a fan of ranged inf not snaring.

Its a "kind of ok" strat. You can treat scouts basically like rattan shields except they ignore pikes. The only major difference you encounter is with asian cav (multi vs infantry) or artillery/grens/abus. Advanced scouts is a fun unit on RE maps with such limited food (like on unknown I'll always keep it in deck) because you can mass them up while your opponent builds mills at 8 minutes. On ep maps i cant forsee any use for them, though I'd almost argue they could be better than kanya if getting them wasnt such an involved process

Spending 600-700 resources to unlock a unit that has 180hp 10% RR and 15 attack for the cost of 90w each seems real bad to me. :/

That's why it was only decent on crap RE maps where theres no hunts. ..- iro can buff em up to 240+ hp colonial with their infantry cards/aura which is why I mention them. If they trained ar the war hut and not the tc/embassy it would be much better too. Either way, as a barely viable strat, having the snare removed is the final nail in the coffin for the unit.

You can train them from Native embassies I believe.

Yes you can train them from embassies (this isnt listed on the wiki surprisingly) if you've build a native tp. If its a mayan settlement you can train medicine men too, though i don't know if thats patched on EP i never saw it on the patch notes
