I think the last 2 games I was just made poor decisions. Overall I think my builds were fine, but I needed to age instead of push in the France v Aztec game (2 warhuts is unbreakable in Colonial), and possibly mix some more pikes/musks before pushing. In the past you used to be able to break Aztec's 1 warhut, especially if they invest into stagecoach, but I have very little experience playing vs the new Aztec. I kinda knew I should age, but a bad habit of mine against Aztec and Russia is to just try to break the warhut no matter the situation, and because I wasn't sure what to do I leaned towards what was more familiar to me.

The China mirror I knew exactly what build he was going to go for; he did the exact same thing vs Tabben at the LAN and every time I've watched him play China in any matchup he always ages with the skirm wonder. I could have probably punished the forward village, but the main problem was committing to infantry when infantry is just much worse than cavalry in this matchup. Forbidden Army just conquers all other options. The only hope is Manchu if you don't go cav yourself, which I was going to send but was waiting on a shipment before I could. I should have probably walled my resources on the right side and then abused the fact that I had a superior range infantry mass to defend until my Manchu arrive, and then try to push out after.

Just watched the China/Otto game.

Damn, wp is an understatement! The quickwall redcoat hold, the manchu pop, the tc and vil micro... it's been a while since I've seen a tourney play that good.

And all that on your birthday as well, congrats man!

watching the otto game, I sort of dont get why diarouga went for the cav switch. He had delayed Mitoe already and had the full stagecoach, I thought you would just try and build a lead rather than diving in and out under tc fire.

In that game diarouga ended up with no market upgrades and the mosque so he was economically handicaped the longer the game went on and sort of gave Mitoe the chance to build up and comeback.
