Re: DE?
Would be cool to have rank names like auto-distributed among Elo by like percentile of players rather than the arbitrary 0-50 system
Re: DE?
I would guess it’s the same as AOE2 is using, which is an elo type that starts at 1000. They also have an api, there’s some third party leaderboards.musketeer925 wrote:hope they just use Elo, but also hope there's an API so third parties can develop there own things if it's insufficient.look wrote:what will the rank system look like?
how this will work?
any suggestion?

Yes, that's what I fear. I really do prefer ranks compared to just a number. I mean it was a big deal for the first guys who actually reached field marshall like Samwise. I don't think It would be the same if he was, for example, the first to reach 2 k elo-rating or something.
Re: DE?
That would be cool, kinda like CS:GO, their rank names are also not the typical Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, etc.musketeer925 wrote:Would be cool to have rank names like auto-distributed among Elo by like percentile of players rather than the arbitrary 0-50 system
but actual rank names.
More important than the system, ranks or ELO itself is the formula on how the ranks are calculated. The PR system was terrible in this regard.
I loved the names but not how the ranks were calculated.
Re: DE?
It was flawed for many reasons. Moving forward the civ lvl's shouldn't be calculated anymore. Honestly they should get rid of the civ lvl entirely in the multiplayer. They can keep it in the single player campaign because it's a good way to learn about the card system and it actually makes fun getting the new and better cards in the campaign.aaryngend wrote:That would be cool, kinda like CS:GO, their rank names are also not the typical Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, etc.musketeer925 wrote:Would be cool to have rank names like auto-distributed among Elo by like percentile of players rather than the arbitrary 0-50 system

Re: DE?
Why all the hate towards PR?
Many times I find it more accurate than elo.
The issue with elo is that I feel it bounces far too much when it doesn't need to, and far too little when it does need to.
Let me explain.
If you are really lucky some day and end up in a winning streak, your rank won't change all that much. Whereas elo could jump up to 200 points (mine sometimes does), even though you know your skill hasn't changed and you haven't really improved.
Smurf account? No problem, if the account is new, your pr will bounce like crazy after winning your first 5 games (assuming you do play against people of your own level, and win), thereby reaching which should be your approximate true rank in no time. Elo? You need to win like 25 games in a row to get on the same level as of your main acc.
Elo should consider how many games you have in total and how often you play when it bounces back and forth. It does not, PR does.
Hell, if you noob bash and win against lower ranks, your PR could even go down lol, whereas elo necessarily always goes up. PR takes more in account the rank gap than elo as well.
The only real issue with pr is that you can exploit the system if you use low level HCs. You will be ranking up like crazy if you only use those, but otherwise PR is usually more accurate than elo. PR is one of the few things this game actually does right.
