What's wrong with hunts?
Ever gotten hunt-screwed on great plains?
Oh you just mean maps. I thought there was some hunt bug or something.

I got many questions regarding DE, wonder if anyone has any answer to these?

1. will there be people that continue working on the game (like balancing units etc), kinda like ep now?
2. Have they mentioned anything regarding adressing out of sync
3. Adressing maphack/other cheats?
4. adressing dropping to not lose pr?
5. adressing failed to join?
6. adressing having to refresh slots etc to get people into your lobby?
7. adressing hunts incorrectly responding to a villager shot (sometimes running away while shooting them back)?

For me these kinda things are most important to just have a fair and smooth game. It would be great to not have a split re/ep patch again but just have everyone on 1 correct version of the game. I play mostly re because it's just way easier to find a team game there than on ep and things like feeling the opponent might cheat (especially maphack) can be a funkiller. I guess everyone has their own reasons to be hyped for DE, for me just having everything be smooth and fair is the most important one

1. Hopefully. I guess this will depend on the game's success, but MS has lately been upping its support even for less successful games like AoM/AoE1, so there's a good chance I'd say.
4-6. Pretty safe to assume all of this is fixed by moving to the new server infrastructure.
7. This is an intended game mechanic to prevent you from herding them too far from the original spawning point.

1: If the community thinks it's necessary, I don't see why not why we wouldn't. I think MS will continue to support it for a while luckily.
2 $ 4 & 5 & 6: this is addressed by no longer using ESO but a new multiplayer platform.
3: Probably, I don't think it has been specifically stated though.
7: Backherding as people usually call it is an intended feature to discourage players hunting away the hunts from their opponents base all the way to their own. The issue where you are not able to get your own hunts in your base is solved by playing on better maps, which hopefully are added in DE.

thank you both for the reply's, I did not pick up on there being a new multiplayer platform, that's great. also never knew backherding was an intended mechanic, I have always thought it was a bug. cheers

I wonder if the macemen will be like the yamabushi since I would like for them to expand upon the range resist pike concept

they are slow, so gonna be a power hitter unit.... lets hope they need more than just them and archers.

I have a feeling the new civs will start out a little OP and then have to be patched back a bit.

Also I noticed when they clicked on an incan building, maybe a fort, it had a red range aura visible about it.... I wonder if other units will implement things like this, so players can see the range of cannons and towers.

From just probably my own personal bias and the fact that there are a ranged and relatively mobile aoe unit. I think it might be a slower snowbally kind of civ, like ....china.

I watched a little closer here are some easter eggs I might have found:

1:05 different stats for defend and volley mode for unit (unit had same stats but 2 distinctions)

1:19 drummer and flag bearer, likely just for campaign cinematics but maybe new aura buff units

1:29 destroyed trade cart near incan market. at 2:01 we see another market with no trade card.

1:47 in swede base we see many types of carts, they could be for towers, but there are just so many in frame and look different from eachother. not sure if game uses differnt art for different types of carts. civ bonus buildings come in carts?

1:52 looks like a swede unique cannon

2:04 inca have ERK like unit.
saw another unit doing healing dance with aura but didnt take time stamp

4:06 deck has 21 cards so looks like players may still have to level up.

the shot at 4:06 looks like the old game since that is the old UI. I dont think we know what the shipment UI looks like yet I think

edit: 1:47 looks like the campaign cutscene

The guy who was playing in that German video was experiencing some serious fps issues... I could clearly see the delay between his actions.

some more things from the vid:
- not more cartoony graphics but just less bloom and more details and better details of the models
- better physics. buildings and ships are falling apart more pretty
- the fur trade mechanic is supposed to work quite similar to the gold mechanic to not mix up the balancing (we'll see about that i guess)
- ai plays way smarter now and is cheating less
