But we only get acess to fort wagons in age 3. so i think it would be a little misleading and weird naming age 2 fortress age for that reason. Otherwise it would make good sense.

meh, i dont think that would really matter. lots of units don't accord to their historical age; longbows in age 4 for instance make no sense

Actually there were plans to use longbows against Napoleonic tactics of infantry columns, but the British leadership realized that to train a generation of longbowmen, one would need to start with their grandfathers... They regretted having broken the continuity of archer training in the past. In AOE3, you have this continuity.

That is interesting why did they not use crossbows? They require far less training. Would that be a range issue?

It was about mass, rapid, indirect fire. Compare and contrast with the Ottoman army, who used archers alongside gunpowder troops in many situations until well into the 19th century, for example in assaults at fortified positions. In contrast to a soldier with a muzzle loader, an archer can shoot much faster at various targets in a street fight during a siege.

If the game just come like that/beta.. rip aoe3. I didn't like it.

the gameplay is different, the zoom doesn’t lock in the pre-determined option, visually I can’t distinguish the units well, badly made colors.

tbh the colours don't look that different to current aoe 3 with max settings and blooms on. I can't play the game with maxed out graphics settings anyway and you will probably be able to adjust the graphics in game
