They have something special about those musks, they will probably be similar to Jan or they will have some special bonus or just more life because they have armorlook wrote:Similar to the jans?Blastkiller wrote:Those Swedish musketeers have something special they have armor reminiscent of conquistador, like that of aoe2, will they be similar to the Jan in stats?

Swedes might have horse arty in age3, since they basically introduced the concept in the 30 years war.
Inkas had very good administration, so they might be a boomy version of aztecs.

The swedes & Incans flag look similar to wol & i'm hyped for these new civs ,would be nice if they add USA ,Italy maybe koreans? 18 civs? idk.
Re: Swede and Inca speculation thread
I’m gonna guess that Swedes get the hackapell cav, and maybe something like those Carolean Musketeers from civ 5 (different game I know, but their musketeers were good back in the day so maybe the unit itself will appear in AOE3. Cross my T’s and dot my I’s). Just crossed my mind.
I feel like Aztec AOE2 and AOE3 vibes are pretty similar, what with the Jaguar Knight and that. So I’m guessing Inca AOE2 and AOE3 vibes will be similar as well, they might be getting the same Kamayuk pike man they get in AOE2. Just speculating.

Remins me of the march across the belts. Yikes.
Re: Swede and Inca speculation thread
During the great nothern war swedish troops were highly aggresive in their battle tactics. Normally muskets were fired from 100m distance. But the swedes would first fire from a distance of 50m and steadily march forwards continuing to fire untill they reached a distance of 20m from the enemy from there they would charge.
I wonder how they will implement the ''gå på'' method in the game. And if Sweden will be a highly aggresive civ as a result.

Re: Swede and Inca speculation thread
They've said they've reworked the native American civs, i assume aztec may get modernised to have gunpowder units, possibly cav, after the colonial age, like iro and sioux already do. As for the inca I'd expect a huaminca, bola, rattan-style age 2, with fortress age+ completely speculativechronique wrote:Na, aztek is more middle age (and same for inca). Re: Swede and Inca speculation thread
I think the reworking was mostly with sioux and iro, I didnt see much about aztec rework. I do think they can include cav for inca since the late incan states were still rebelling against the spanish and had adopted cavalrydansil92 wrote:They've said they've reworked the native American civs, i assume aztec may get modernised to have gunpowder units, possibly cav, after the colonial age, like iro and sioux already do. Re: Swede and Inca speculation thread
Sweden is supposed to be an offensive civ.
And inca more defensive. Forgotten empires have made them accessible for aoe2 players. So I guess unit types will be like aoe2 inca.
This was same for aom. Greek similar to aoe1 and 2. Atlanteans a little similar to Aoe3.

Historically the Kingdom of Italy was formed around 1850 which by the way was not the Italy of now, if aoe3 arrives around 1850, then they could put the Italians in the game, I would have liked the Koreans too, the US would be cool but honestly 18 civilizations are too many.

i mean Korea definitely existed from 1500-1900, it would be the Joseon period.helln00 wrote:I think korea doesnt fully work timing-wise. If you want a civ that was there during the era of colonisation and also early industrial era and have like upgrade paths, I would go for persia(safavid) or siam (thailand)Squamiger wrote:Hm new TWC civ, new euro civ, what’s the chance there’s a secret new Asian civ that will be revealed on release? Re: Swede and Inca speculation thread
new images from the DE interview:
looks like Swedes will have pretty standard European buildings: capitol, factories, etc.: swedish cabin looks cozy AF: Inca flag is the Wiphala flag: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiphala. Awesome. Long live Evo Morales! The new UI looks pretty clean, I gotta say. Also, the minimap looks nice and easy to read. Looks like Inca will have a unit called a maceman, and the unit upgrades will be the same as TWC civs, ending with legendary in age 4. Maybe a dopp type unit? Also, notice the updated Mesoamerican style trade route socket: Inca will also have some kind of archer unit. I wonder how broken it will be compared to yumi: from this image of the Swedes, it looks like pikemen, and maybe an updated skin for hussars, with normal artillery like falcs and mortars. that teeny tiny cannon from the trailer is nowhere to be seen. Also look how the grass is trampled down where the units were marching. Excited to turn that feature on exactly once, crash my computer, and then never see it again while playing on the lowest possible settings:
