It is going to be a (historically correct) draw between Spain and Ottos. The Spanish Tercios are finally buffed to live up to their historical impact as the dominant force on European battlefields clashing with Ottoman forces of Janissaries and (trainable) Spahis.

I predict that Inca will be the best while Sweden is the worst or vice versa. That seems to typically be how these things work.

I could imagine that Inca is secretly overpowered, but people have difficulties to play them. That's why Sweden is considered OP for the first months, which is then nerfed to the ground. Then, an era of solid Incan supremacy will begin.

Probably Inca. Sweden appears to be at least sorta similar to European civs (we saw Hussar in the trailer) so I don't see that going wrong. Inca looks a lot more unique, and if Steppe Lancers from AoE2:DE are anything to go by - they will be very strong.

Sweden are merc based, so ofc i'm going to spam swedish mercs for a year and stay at cpt, so sweden will be best.

I'm curious to see whether they find merc gameplay that does not simply look like what the Germans already do. Interestingly, it would make sense for Swedes to have access to Hakkapelites, since Finland was part of Sweden during the game's time frame. That would be another similarity to Germans (high dmg/low hp cav).

inca will be OP because they are going to make it familiar to aoe2 players, aka, turtle centric, with strong walls and an economy that doesnt require map control. if they make it so turtling is accessible to noobs, then people who actually know how to play will absolutely abuse the civ kynesie style

Germany isn't even the best civ for mercs honestly, any civ with the good version of cc a lot of the time is on par or better than germany in terms of mercs, it's also far far harder to spot it. Spain is probably the best for mercs in team too. So all they're going to do with sweden is probably give them some special merc card.

Sioux or Iro could be either the most OP or weakest civs, depending on this unknown factor of the fur trading replacing gold mining (How broken it could be).
That aside, I am itching to get my hands on playing as Swedes and Incas. Safest answer is whatever civ Kaiser plays wins first tourney on DE.

I agree. Spanish Tercios should have had an upgrade card giving +2 range and a *5 multiplier against HI since day one.

if it truly has an aoe ranged snare, maybe it should be something like very expensive mansabdar unit. or it should have the speed of a falconet in fire mode or something. if it's just a goon that can snare cav before the cav can even get close, it becomes almost unkillable and it will be able to swing fights so hard, catch raids so easy, and force fights whenever you want
