I played someone called GL.WashedUp today and thought it was DauT for a second, but I just realized that thats the username TheViper has been using on AoE2 right now. He wasnt bad either. Beat me with a Portuguese FF and Goon + Cassadors. Considering how bad he was at the game in his stream, it looked like he executed that BO perfectly and he might have been putting in the hours.
Or someone else just changed their steam name to copy him

Interesting that he played a little off stream, since he kind of just confirmed he's getting paid/directed to stream aoe3 (he streamed aoe3 longer than he "had to" today -- 3 hrs vs 1.5). That is pretty obvious though.

Well, that can only mean he wants both: getting paid for it by his sponsor but also enjoying himself so he extended the session (even if he didn't get extra pay for the extension).
Thankfully, both are not mutually exclusive.

I didn't hear him say that.
Actually it looks like he's having fun when playing aoe3

"Supposed to" could mean he set a personal time limit for the stream. Doesn't mean he was paid (doesn't mean he wasn't paid).

Christ, I'm drunk and read that as "conjecture evidence" and was so confused. In other news, I'm not a huge fan of the AoE2 community. Best experience I've had with them is meeting the lovely guys from Escape, but I feel that they're the minority. I'm drunk. Mods, please put me in a drunk tank.

I donā€™t think heā€™s being paid to play it, I think he enjoys playing some fun stuff from time to time, and he enjoys playing with DauT (who clearly enjoys the game).

I think the same. There were a lot of people asking for aoe2 since the stream started. And in the title it said aoe3 now and aoe2 later, so it makes sense
