Map Pool
Map Pool
hey everyone ,
I would like to know if there is a way to know the map pool that is used in 1v1 and team qs ?
Also in aoe2DE ppl vote for the map they want to be in the map pool each month i believe , do anyone know if it will work the same way for aoe3de ?

Re: Map Pool
I think this is the ranked map pool. Could be mistaken tho. It doesnāt appear like we will get a map pool like aoe2 imo.big_bada wrote:hey everyone ,

The ranked map pool seems to have changed. Gran Chaco is in it too, I got it today.

Re: Map Pool
Why is the map pool a secret... Can someone datamine the info? Do we need a colaborative thread to keep track of the map pool?
Re: Map Pool
They switched it to the competitive map set I think. Tho idk why Indonesia.
Araucania went from too few resources to shit tons of resources (way too many). 1v1 spawn has enough food for a 3v3 lol.

Re: Map Pool
Does this feel right? I think if I remember correctly it is just the competitive map set. No non-TP maps. All RE maps on this list have had a resource rebalance.

I think all the map sets are simple in the RandMaps folder and have the extension .setlemmings121 wrote:Why is the map pool a secret... Can someone datamine the info? Do we need a colaborative thread to keep track of the map pool?

Re: Map Pool
But itās not obvious which is for QS. Nor is it obvious how/when/why QS maps change.Durokan wrote:I think all the map sets are simple in the RandMaps folder and have the extension .setlemmings121 wrote:Why is the map pool a secret... Re: Map Pool
Yeah. You're right. I loaded the game up and it is not clear. I think with the insider info I have I'm pretty sure QS uses the competitive mapset for 1v1. I am not sure if it uses the Team Random set for team QS.
I realized shortly after telling people to look at code that not everyone is code literate. For those of you who haven't yet entered the rabbit whole of programming, pic attached for the map set (sorted alphabetically). This was mined from the .set files
Yes you read this correctly. No Yukon (And patagonia for that matter) is not a typo. This is probably a slight error in the implementation of sets. It was a technique used in the TAD mapsets to give extra weight to the TAD maps. They had each vanilla/twc map entered twice and all TAD maps entered thrice which made them proportionally more likely to occur. Yukon thus has a 2/36 chance to occur in American Random while the other maps should all have 1/36. The more you know. I think I'm going to invest in yukon strats
