- Fixed a potential memory leak that could result in a crash and, in extremely rare cases when using certain mods, corrupt local, game-specific player profile files on Steam.
- Fixed a crash that could occur in The Siege of Osaka Story Mode Mission.

ONGOING INVESTIGATION
We have several fixes in the works which will be ready for next week's build. These will be tested and packaged for both Steam and the Windows Store simultaneously when they are ready to ship:
Additional crash fixes.
Fixes for some cinematics not progressing correctly.
MS Store: Ensure that mods properly appear in-game on the mod browser.
MS Store: Fix for player names not displaying correctly in matches.
ELO stats will display in casual lobbies when hovering over player names.
Other current projects which will be available later on:
Adding the ability to choose 20 or 40 minute treaty options for ranked games.

Re: 3DE Update 5025
Did they fix the leaderboards or is the technology of having pages of text still beyond them

Why is picking between two options out of a list a "project" instead of a simple task

Re: 3DE Update 5025
It really doesnt correspond at all to the file delete problem. Imo that was an update ready before they learn the bug.
Like no one has crash with this bug, so it doesnt seems to be related to any kind of memory leaks or whatever, or just some game-specific player profile files on Steam lol.
And as far as i know memory leaks is about Ram and cant delete a part of your hard disk.
So i really dont believe it is fixed or they were drunk writing the hotfix description.

Re: 3DE Update 5025
Would be great if they fixed the problem of units getting "stuck" in the TP socket.
I had 10 (TEN!) CDBs stuck in a TP socket the other day in the 10th minute = GG

Re: 3DE Update 5025
I agree with @flontier as this fix seems unrelated to the big deletion problem.
This sounds like they either fixed the problem with user settings/hotkeys getting deleted or they fixed the problem where the game would disappear from your Steam libraries installed games (although this seems like a Steam issue and not an AOE3DE issue judging from google search results).Fixed a potential memory leak that could result in a crash and, in extremely rare cases when using certain mods, corrupt local, game-specific player profile files on Steam.

They did release as a Friday night emergency patch, for steam only..
I read this description of the fix as "there is no fucking way we will formally admit we deleted system files of people, but that bug is fixed".

Re: 3DE Update 5025
The massive memory leak and subsequent loss of data has to do with incompetent software developers. Programming errors can lead to memory conflicts and, without virtual memory, an application can accidentally write data outside its own memory space, causing problems with other programs. I believe this is what happened with AOE3 DE...
By the way, this is not easily fixed at all.

Re: 3DE Update 5025
It could quite easily be an unrelated hotfix they had ready. We already saw them release Steam-only hotfix patches before, just because the Windows Store patching is apparently very difficult to deal with.n0el wrote:Exactly how I read it.lemmings121 wrote:flontier wrote:It really doesnt correspond at all to the file delete problem. Re: 3DE Update 5025
I'm not too sure about this fix, the wording is way too vague to know what they actually fixed. So I am going to wait for the next big one to install DE again
