just think about it. you have an entire codebase that is completely foreign to the developers.

I don't think Incas have been nerfed enough for Khorix to be interested but we can ask him if he is willing to do it anyway.

That's not easy for sure, but still easier than coding the game from scratch.

Create a "Definitive" version of it seems like a possibility

The original game was coded horribly, what can the people that are trying to fix this broken husk of a game, do about it? It sounds as if you think they are doing it on purpose to fuck you up - keep calm. They said more than once that they are well aware of the problems associated with the game, and tbh that much better than having an "ok" game but mods wont ever listen to you.
To me it's completely fine if it even takes 2 months to fix all the bugs. I don't blame devs for that.
The only annoying thing is when more new bugs appear after a release, such as shift click randomly not working or the game supposedly getting more laggy.

You would not say that if you were a programmer. Working in a legacy codebase is often more difficult than developing something from scratch.

So If I place a building with a vill, it deselects it. If I hold shift, place a building it doesn't deselect the vill, but I have to click twice on the ground in order to give it a move command, everybody have the same thing happen?

So for me when I activate the hotkeys conflicts its puts the bug shift, when I disabled the hotkey conflicts its removes the bug for me, I hope that is the solution, for me its working, I no longer have the bug

Turning off allow conflicts fixes the shift click bug. But then your hotkeys probably dont work.

That's amazing. It's infos like this that makes fixing bugs a breeze, when you can clearly pinpoint what causes it and can reproduce it easily.

I expect them to relase a hotfix tomorrow.

you know all of these bugs makes the game feel like aoe2. Im putting some tinfoil hats on but I think that someone on the team was called over from aoe 2 or ....AOE4 dev team and is just bringing their codes over

Very disappointed to see someone wish misfortune on another user and their family, especially in a Covid environment. No excuse for that behaviour and as a nooby little nobody myself who is only just returning to the game, I find it reflects very poorly on the community.

In terms of keeping the thread on topic and civil. It's yet another disappointment regarding the shift click thing lol. However, it's really refreshing to see frequent balance patches. I hope they continue to tweak things as it really does seem like they are listening to feedback!

It works but you have to turn it on each time you want to modify a hotkey and then switch it back.

Shift click cannot work if you have Allow with conflicts on correct?

Yeah sorry I mean shift click works only if you turn it off. However it will not affect your gameplay coz 'allow conflict' just affects your editing the hotkey, not using it.

Just tried this, disallowing conflicts breaks hotkeys unfortunately.

Good to see I'm not the only one with this shift click bug. Extremely disappointed with these devs. Feels like a cashgrab.

is it actually the general shift click that's broken? it works perfectly fine for me as long as I don't place any buildings (which isn't because of the shift click per se but because it diselects the villager) or use an ability like the explorer's crackshot (after which it selects the treasure guardian for some reason). Otherwise i can que multiple actions without problems (i.e. telling a villager to hunt after collecting a crate)

Shift click functions, but whenever you tell a unit to perform an action with your left-click, it will deselect that unit immediately afterward. This means you must reselect it to perform the shift click. It's a bit annoying and means you have to adjust from your muscle memory.
