Re: Rec Analysis
I dont think i've seen a 16 min game being dissected and broken down over an entire hour before, must be a new record.
I think if you were to do vids on these try and keep them to 35-40mins max, kinda felt like a lecture and i had forgot what happened earlier in the game to appreciate the position of the players in the end game if that makes sense

One of the best AoE3 #contentcreated I've ever seen. I'd gladly watch more.
The interactive format is very good, better than if you were analysing one game alone.
Giving this level of analysis to good tournament games would be great too (like your German mirror against Mitoe).
ESOC : came for the game, stayed for the drama.
Re: Rec Analysis
Do the same, but with a teamgame. There has been recent interest (as far as I can tell) about more content analyzing team games.Hazza54321 wrote:hope you all enjoyed, idk if ill do more of this in the future depends on if people found this informative
Quality over quantity. Content like this is great from time to time, I doubt it can be produced on a weekly basis, while still retaining a high quality.
Then you haven't seen Day9. Stuff like this is his trademark.I_HaRRiiSoN_I wrote:I dont think i've seen a 16 min game being dissected and broken down over an entire hour before, must be a new record.

Re: Rec Analysis
I decided to watch it and there are lot of interesting stuffs, especially about mechanics. I didn't know that you could consistently pull trick with 2 units and learnt some things about cav micro.
Some more basic commentaries about mistakes you made (which have more consequences than huss micro imo).
1) I think that going 700w and building the stable from 400w is just suboptimal. If you want to go stable first, sending the bank wagon is better, especially if you have a market. It worked out well here because Samwise fucked up and you manage to kill a cdb, but I don't think that you need your hussars early tbh.
2) Your herding was awful this game. Not only did you lose villager seconds because you had iddle vills, but you also wasted quite a lot of apm managing your iddle vills. This apm could have been spent to build your banks earlier, or micro your units.
As a general rule, macro is more important than micro because when you have more stuff, you win the fight, and because you have more apm to micro when you've macro'd correctly.
As hazza said, prioritize herding over being active on the map with huss.

I though pull tricking required units to be aligned, I had no idea that selecting the unit that is ahead first makes it consistent also. That blew my mind[Armag] diarouga wrote:I didn't know that you could consistently pull trick with 2 units

However taking a few minutes at the end to summarize the 4 to 5 most important lessons from the game would be a good addition.

Re: Rec Analysis
Nice job, many good insights Mr H! This i like a lot :)
Useful for everyone, even higher level players, to watch. For the general audience you might want to make it shorter. Also, because it is a detailed analysis, I would indeed hint at the start (for new viewers) that the end has a summary with the 5 main points for improvement.
P.S. "dis-ad-van-tage" , ez
