I had already played against that guy whose username is 2 asian characters, currently #12 on the ladder. I thought he was very dodgy, he played like a maphacker, but I assumed he was just lucky because you can't maphack on DE, right? Then I played another game against him today, and he just HAD to be maphacking. It was too painfully obvious. I'm gonna prove it step by step with the recorded game below. I'll post something similar on the official forums so hopefully they do something about it.
Age 1:
- Before anything, switch to his view, enable fog of war, and disable view lock (as it doesn't seem to work well).
- Select his explorer. You can see by the waypoints that he just sends his explorer right next to a wood treasure, then a food treasure, then another wood treasure. Each time, his explorer stays idle there. He doesn't change direction, doesn't react when he sees the treasure. He just sends it there.
(note how he has zero treasure micro and loses his explorer, yet he's somehow rank #12 on the ladders)
Age 2:
- Now he randomly calls mm. Select them and remove the fog of war: he has the waypoint straight on top of my fb. Disable fog of war: well, that's not in his LOS, as he scouted almost none of the map (dead explorer). Okay.
- Disable fog of war again. I'm trying to bring a second cdb to snipe mm and finish the rax. He reacts by sending his mm towards that cdb, before it comes in LOS. I pull the cdb back.
- Enable fog of war, select his freshly popped 2 uhlans. Waypoints are clearly following my cdb movements in the fog of war. He hunts it down and kills it.
Age 3:
- Around minute 11: he clearly waits on a side of the map until I push (my army is out of his LOS). 11:10: select his BR / uhlans group, he clicks them in an unscouted part of the map, right on top of my eco.
- Rest of the game goes like this: whenever I push his side of the map, he comes in to raid me, knowing my army isn't there to defend anymore. He always finds the vils. He pulls back his raids several times right before my units come in. (though sometimes he doesn't pull back, or loses his own vils, but I think that's just because he's an actual PR15 - 20)
- At 19:30: he goes to catch my falcs out of LOS, then pulls back before he sees my army coming to cover them. That move gives me an idea to trap him.
- At 21:40: I know the game is won, so I bait him with 2 uncovered falcs near the TP line, out of his LOS. Surprise, he directly sends 3 uhlans right on top of them, despite having no LOS on them.
