Timeline:
Sign-ups: Now until January 30 by completing this form. - closed
Draft: February 6. Team captains will draft their teams from the registrants in reverse order of 1. wickedcossack

Preliminary Rounds: Best-of-3 (BO3) series to be played between February 08 and 21.
Semi-Finals: A BO3 series to be played between February 22 and 28.
Gold and Bronze Matches: BO5 series played between the top 4 teams (2 winners of semi-finals play for gold and the top prize of ~$250) between March 01 to 07.
There is a
$5 USD buy-in to be paid
only if you are drafted. There is no cost to signing up!
When sign-ups close, captains will be chosen from the highest ranked players. Team captains will be given some time to review the player pool and then draft two more players to join them a week after sign-ups close. Anyone is welcome to join the
tournament discord (this is a must if you are signing up to play).
The number of teams competing in the tournament will be decided once sign-ups close and if we have enough players, we will consider opening a lower bracket with a separate prize pool.
You will need to subscribe to the custom map mod "RoyaL Tournament Maps" for this tournament.
Streaming will not be permitted as we plan to cast games from the recorded games.

1v1s 2v2s and 3v3s are very different games. Being good in 1v1 doesn't guarantee being good in 3v3, and vice versa. I've consistently lost to pr 20s in 1v1, but have also consistently beaten pr 40s in 3v3s. That being said, it is funny how the weaker captains keep winning their games. The balance system in this tournament is glaringly flawed. I hope they don't allow players below pr 28-29 in the next tournament.

Shouldn't consider pr from legacy much tbh coz whatever gamemode you play it affects pr but in DE there is separate elo/ranking for each modes.So someone can have good pr coz of 1v1 but without much team game experience would be far more low rated than ppl who play team games around that level.

Its not that extreme, but there is a point there. For example when I was playing team actively I never felt outclassed by higher ranked 1v1 players. The difference between a pr30 team player and a pr40 1v1 player can often be negligible in a 3v3 and even 2v2 depending on a few different circumstances.
