Re: Civ you have most fun playing?
I Love India, I play FFA and it is really well adapted and fun for that game mode.
Elephants, tigers, and urumi! just so much fun to use. And they have so many unique strategies like the Taj Mahal peace option, and units making barracks.
For Native civs, Aztec (even though they are all pretty fun in FFA), they are just such good defenders and are well rounded enough to fight early, mid or late game.
For Euro civs, Spain, I love dancing my monks around my army as people chase them down. and I like melee civs so lancer/ rodelero combos is one of the best, lots of fun. Ottomans are a close 2nd, they are a lot like India and no one expects them to be great late game.
Sadly I have not played much since the release of DE

I am brave but not reckless, they're too many
Re: Civ you have most fun playing?
For a civ that receives much hate at all skill levels, Japan comfortably leads the "most fun" civ poll. XD

Re: Civ you have most fun playing?

Re: Civ you have most fun playing?
Would Japan still be fun if a little weaker and not OP? I sure think so. They have some really cool units and play styles using dymos to run around. That extra bit of having more commander type units brings about a fun aspect. And its fun to have so many cool buildings (like all Asian civs)
I like building a beautiful base, and civs like lakota that do not need as many is so simplistic actually loses a bit of the fun aspect. Even though Lakota are fun for other reasons.
But for my personal choice. Japan is a civ I rarely play, and only do it for fun. (Export exchanges for FFA Hatamos samurai strats!) I tend to struggle with Japan late game once I lose a dymo or 2 its much harder to get control of the battle again. So I mainly use barracks and the dymos just for HP or attack boost.
They just need to be toned down a little bit.

Japan are clearly a greatly designed civ, as many people seem to really enjoy them. The people complaining about Japan are just entitled whiners that expect the game to be tailormade for whatever they like.Kanoo wrote:For a civ that receives much hate at all skill levels, Japan comfortably leads the "most fun" civ poll. Re: Civ you have most fun playing?
My favourite civ is Portugal. Not that I really enjoy playing them, it's just that after a string of defeat that one victory against a top civ is so, so sweet.

Re: Civ you have most fun playing?
For me its gotta be sweden just love the torp mechanic where u have to be Spot on with the placement to get the most res possible (like trees for example).
Re: Civ you have most fun playing?
To me, Germans are the most fun to play with. They have some of the weirdest units (settler wagon, war wagon, Doppelsoldner), free light cavalry to raid with and the best mercs (legacy). Second place is for Brits due to the manors spawning villagers (awesome), church highlanders and two Jaeger shipments for extra laming. Third place is for the Dutch, mainly for the banks and the op church techs. They can spam mercs easily due to the extra gold income and I find merc units to be the most fun to play with.
Re: Civ you have most fun playing?
I'm pretty sure Japan would win the 'least fun to play against' vote by far.Kanoo wrote:For a civ that receives much hate at all skill levels, Japan comfortably leads the "most fun" civ poll. XD
Re: Civ you have most fun playing?
French, because you have to be active on the map all the time, scout, adapt, make tech-switches, set up traps, strategize. Basically becasue you're playing an RTS game. ((That was a jab at Jap, Inca, Swede))
