How Good is Card "x"? Analysis of Noteworthy Cards

  • Quote

Post by AndiAOE »

Hello Community,

so i am working on Card analysis for cards i find interesting in AOE 3. I would copy paste everthing from steam here, but there are too many pictures in it and that would take too long for me to migrate everything. So if you are interested then just check out this guide here:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 2363571080
At the moment i did analyse the following cards:
  1. Factories
  2. Dojo (Japanese)
  3. Grazing (India)
  4. Tupac Rebellion (Inca Revolution)
  5. Chincha Brewing (Inca)
  6. Northwestpassage (French cdb Speed)
  7. Medicine (Villager train time + cost reduction)
  8. Faster Building Houses (british)
  9. Hegemony & Cartridge Currency (Ethiopia)
You can use this thread here to discuss or to suggest cards you want to see analysed.
Thanks for reading and have a great day ;)

Eco theory first as a card as ports has always been relatively controversial

Sweden and Inca cards improve too many aspects of each civ, it's unthinkable to play without some of them, while other euro and native civs don't rely that much on their deck.

An analysis would be great, specially on their unique cards and why do they have too many of them. Like caroleans, they have like 5 cards come on.

Do the Lakota(n) (?) Adoption card. I think that one is interesting after the EP buff but it's never been utilized.

As for the Factory summary, "you can get housed (and not get any value)" is inaccurate as of the latest USA patch. The HC now pauses at the end until you have another house, similar to the Flying Crow.

You can kinda see it in the medicine card section. What question do you want to have answered? A 3 tc boom? or 1 tc boom (1 TC already part of medicine analysis)

Adoption itself is a great shipment, but not for Lakota.

What about team age 1 eco cards like team furrier/spice trade (same effect), team chonido, team sumptuary laws

I think Russia team furrier should be their go to card in 3v3 instead of distributivism (and maybe even in 2v2). 10% increase for every team member means +1 vill for every 10 vills on food. Most of the time your team will have at least 50 vills on food so this means about +5 vills instead of the 2,5 from distributivism.
Besides it also increases yields.

If you have a Japanese teammate it is even better, as their cherry orchards are affected too, and it also has great synergies with Lakota's bisons and team bisons cards.
ESOC : came for the game, stayed for the drama.

I have all the Trickles in a video already, although they changed some trickles 1 or 2 patches after the release of my video. But i can see if i can get something with age 1 eco upgrades. Just think that the math isnt actually to interesting, because most of the time it s just (10 - 15% of 10-15 vills = 1 to 2 vilsl --> means worse than 3 villagers)

yeah hence why I said team of 2 or 3 or 4 players. Would the combination of age 1 shipments result in a stronger set of shipments than each civ sending their 1v1 shipment

Age 1 bank with team spice trade second seems better in team if you're not placing a rax with 400w age up crates. 18v age up, market in transition and buy wood for the second bank and rax on age up.

Standard dutch in green below. Resources are basically the same till fortress where I get attacked, but my team also has the spice trade bonus.

So you've about the same eco as standard dutch, but teammates have team spice trade bonus. Team spice trade is now age 1 and has same effects as team furrier.
10% gather rates on hunts, 5% yield
15% gather rate on berries, 5-8% yield
