Am I getting worse or my opponent got that much better?

I have been playing quite often lately like every day i spend 2-3 or sometimes 4 hours to play aoe3. I also staeyed awake very late and get up late in the morning. Because of the covid crisis so the i can't go to the gym to train anymore. I don't know if all these factors have bad affects on my performance or not but I just feel like I started to lose more and more in recent days. Mentally I feel fine but I lost to the same guy a lot lately while 2-3 weeks ago I can easily beat him.
I don't know if I just got worse or he has just improved a lot, like a lot in a short perdiod of time or he used hacks, etc.

I mean unless we know the games we cant tell tbh. Also it could just bee a streak. I was on a -10 losing streak for a while. Sometimes you can just play yourself worse

the other guy could also have gotten better. who knows really but don't think about it too much. relax a bit then you can look back

take a week off and come back, you will play better

Taking a couple of days or a week off sometimes helps.
Some times playing aoe too much is just mentally exhausting to be fair.
It can be similar to going to the gym where training too much every single day sometimes can interfere with your performance rather than help.

Yeah I thought I was on a streak finally getting 1400 and then immediately going -5 and rolling back down to 1300 ELO

Learn to know when to stop, also it worthwhile watching the rec to see what went wrong even if it on fast speed.

maybe the guy you talking about just learn how to adapt, so you beat him easy at the begining but now that he now how you play he knwo how to counter you, and you don't got enought variety in your strategy, you can be good but if you are not good to adapt yourself player with less apm or less micro and macro skill can beat you, just by reading the game better
