No its very true actually. U just keep defending it for whatever reason. There are still huge bugs like shiftclicking a tp to do another task with ur explorer it randomly walks away,
Vills dont build walls etc.
These are major issues and to me pretty much means not competitive.
Civ balance aside that is.
I feel u kaiser and im glad u have no desire to come.back rn as its a horrible game atm.

The game does seem to lag a bit more this last patch or last couple of patches. For me it's not immediate, but once i've played like an hour the lag becomes crippling. At launch I could play 3 hours without lag (it would randomly crash at launch sometimes tho).

tfw you realize that Kaiser has been playing this good all this time on a laptop. Sad to see him leave, he has great insight in to the game and it's always a joy to see him play.

Also, why are people bothering to shit so much on this game as in writing multiple posts (looking at you mongo) on how bad and unplayable it is? Just express your opinion and leave the game be and play or do something else if it's that bad as you say. I can't imagine having a grudge about all the games that left me dissapointed, even though I cared about some franchises a lot and later releases turned me away from the game. That's just the way it is.
I just like that AOE3 DE brought the community back together and expanded the player base and multiplayer games are now actually balanced most of the time, back in the original game (a few years ago, when most of the time I've seen 900 or so people online) lots of games were one sided. Also even in worst case scenarios I find games a lot quicker too (I am pretty in the middle of the ELO ladder though). Is the game perfect? No, far from it, many improvements could be made. Am I happy with it? Yes.

I boguht a new comp some month after De was realesed. Feel really stupid now when i realize ive only used it for aoe3. And thats like once every third week.

It definitly lags more everytime i try it. Yesterday i almost instantlt got some vills stuck in a tp aswell.
Definitly not worth The money to buy a new comp for this.

Might be for u tho as u can probebly win The money back @Kaiserklein

Edit: i was also very dissapointed when i logged on to practise some aztec all ins, so i can bash @Aussie_Drongo. And find out that they now only have 9mace 8 mace and 5 coy. Wtf i thought people already said aztec sucks...

Meh, I know the way I reason about that is shit.

If you like playing the game, and if you consider spending several thousands hours on it like you did on legacy, then it's worth buying a good pc to play it.

Like people can spend 20K for a car they drive 10 minutes twice a day or 15€ to watch a 90 minutes movie (1€/hour, comparated to a videogame that's like paying 1000€ just to play 1000H a game).
I have mates left on vanilla that have like, Idk, 5000 - 10 000 hours on the game playing an old pc and that don't want to buy a new one for DE, Idk, feels weird to me.

Anyway, hope we'll see you soon again, and have a good continuation if that's not the case man :)

and I mean PC is a tool anyways. Even if I wouldn't work using my own pc, I'd still want it to be a powerful enough for me to do whatever I want to do with it. Same with phones and internet connections, fucking hate shit phones and slow internet connections.

Like I said I'll buy a comp eventually. Though if I didn't plan to move to aoe4 I don't think I would do it. Aoe3 isn't worth buying a good comp on its own.
I could have bought one without tourney winnings, just couldn't be bothered

Defending it? I think the game sucks. But to say it's "unplayable" is objectively false.

Unplayable seems to be used as a subjective term these days (if it was ever different), so it can't be objectively false.

the bugs make DE unplayable in a competitive sense. a bug here and a bug there means you miss a TP pass or a unit pop or a treasure or something else. thus your ability to compete in ladder or tourney setting is crippled.

The game is unplayable within its relative context. At the highest level, small bugs and details make the game competitive unplayable. That's not to say that you can't have fun playing it.

It's still a subjective statement. AoE3 always had bugs, all games do, even e-sports. Whether a bug is so bad that it makes the game "unplayable" is in the eye of the beholder. Realistically, even with the bugs you mentioned, the best players will still typically win. You could argue it's still playable, even if it increases the RNG factor to unhealthy levels. The only way it would be objectively unplayable is if you couldn't finish a game without it crashing.

Though for the record, from what I've read I would probably consider it unplayable as well, depending on the frequency of occurrence of all these bugs.
