I really hate those house-boomers. RE Japan is already quite annoying to play against, and DE is still adding new house-booming civs.
Torps/shrines are just too cost-effective: you need to train useless units to destroy them. 5 pikemen is 200 food 200 wood (and you may need more), but they can't do anything else than sieging houses. So even if you do destroyed some houses, it may not be a good trade.

Reduce their HP in Commerce age, they get back the former HP in fortress, ez
Also imagine complaining of those when the ones that' are truly frustrating are the Kancha houses cmon

Tbh they should go back to the original idea: an aggressive civ with mercs. Like torps, instead of gathering all 3 resources they should only gather coin from mines.

I can't stop being shocked some people think they need a "slight nerf" at best. There are so many things wrong with this civ that the devs actually need to have the guts to shake Caroleans and torps instead of just toning them down: That would solve 99,99% of this issue.
Having 2 houses being equal to 3 settlers is ridiculous (ironworks makes it worth 4 settlers and blueberry makes it 5 and having a hunt nearby makes it 6) while having no restrictions on villagers, gather rates, town centers and eco techs.
As long as torps are deemed as mini villagers I see no hope to consider Sweden a good civ to this game. Overall, having a buildings that give you resources with barely a con throughout the game, IS NOT HEALTHY TO THIS GAME(I wonder why Japan, Sweden and Inca piss off the community). I wish they had stopped at Japan because The Dutch was the only ones I could give a free pass back in 2012.

* One single torp gathers at 50% of a settler (with no improvements) to the respective resource.
* So one Torp(A) around a mine with a tree nearby has a gather rate of 50% of a settler on wood, 50% on gold and 50% on berry bush. And a second Torp (B) does the same.
* Two torps (A+B) are worth 1 full settler on wood, 1 settler on coin and 1 settler on berry to the player. So every 2 torps= 3 free settlers.
If the player manages to send a deer to their range, the Torp will harvest food too, so it's like having 0.5 of a settler on animal and besides berry, wood and coin ( 2 Torps= 4 free settlers).
The is that Ironworks and Blue berry cards double their gather rate making every torp being equal to 1 full villager on coin and berry bush. So 1 torp= 1 vil on coin; 1 on berry; 0.5 on wood; 0,5 hunted animal.
So how did this test went as 4.56 instead of 6? I'm legit curious!

Well placed with trees it is indeed possible to get 0.25 wood / sec instead of 0.05 wood / sec as in my first test. I don't know if there is a total limit, but I can easily get 0.20 wood / sec with food and gold to the maximum.

@DNLgibraltar keep in mind that it is worthless comparing torp berry gather rate with villager berry gather rate, because villagers gather hunts. also it is rare that you will actually max the torp wood gather rate as you need several trees very close. they are mostly used for coin...
