Mexico is Broken?
So we know Mexico is the new DLC coming for aoe3 de and it's releasing on December 1st ,whenever new civ is released it's broken and i can already see it
4.5 speed skrims
Pikes only cost food
Musks are op like the regulars in USA
same design like USA age up politician wise but with revolution & can change decks
Mexican Grenadiers
Pistelero with double gun
Catheral seems op
Dunno what else is there but some cards should be broken
Before ppl start making threads about balance ,ranting ,whinning on 1st December and henceforth ,discuss how you feel about this civ & what you think will be broken from first impressions
For me it was a surprise ,I expected Italy or something else

Re: Mexico is Broken?
Speed skirms are essentially just like USA state militia (17 range).
Food pikes are like war dogs but they're more spammable I guess.
Outlaws are like the USA ones.
Cathedral is basically church+capitol.
The OP musk probably costs like 2 regular musks.
Idk about the hacienda thing, seems quite strong but I guess it's pretty much Mexico only eco bonus.
It's pretty much in line with USA but seems a bit more funny.

@gibson you can already tell it's broken already, how it fits in balance we shall see when it's available

4.5 speed skrims
not to crazy considering they look like a state militia/strellet more than a standard skirmisher
Pikes only cost food
arent pikes considered pretty bad? would be nice having some unit viable in the lategame.
Musks are op like the regulars in USA
not to take credit but the unit overall seems like a version of my unique grenadier concept, it will cost 2 pop and might even be more limited than musketeers are (later age or artillery foundry required)
For me it was a surprise ,I expected Italy or something else
i dont think we will see Italy as a solo civ, if anything i would have been more surprised by that than anything else.
i was expecting morocco but i had hoped for Persia, that said it was joked about long ago that we would see more new world nations and here we are. eventually we will probably see brazil even tho i rather have a lot of other factions.

Re: Mexico is Broken?
Well aennas only cost food and are not necessarily OP
Re: Mexico is Broken?
Aztecs are already in the game hmm. Maybe this is why they didnt rename that civ when DE released.
Either way a quick glance at the gimmicks involved, it doesnt seem like a fun civ to play against.

Yeah it’ll be broken. What will be? I don’t know but with their track record something will be.

in Mexico vs USA match up, will infantary be able to climb walls?
Re: Mexico is Broken?
No need because the US will only partially wall upt3rror1sta wrote:in Mexico vs USA match up, will infantary be able to climb walls?
mad cuz bad
Re: Mexico is Broken?
I don't quite like the designs of US (and Mexico maybe). They designed too many upgrade options and additional shipments, but only few of them are used.

Without walls, the USA clearly wins, those occasional school shootings give combat experience.n0el wrote:No need because the US will only partially wall upt3rror1sta wrote:in Mexico vs USA match up, will infantary be able to climb walls?

Re: Mexico is Broken?
1) Their Musketeer is OP (90f,80c, 2 pop): 300HP (Hussar =320hp), 25% hand armor, 25 dmg (x3 vs calvary), 36 ranged damage, 32 siege ( same as Pikeman). This guy eats cavalry for lunch. It's like if Samurai had become a Musketeer.
2) I think the 2 vils+ hacienda in Age 1 is far too good because of the vil-sec cost ( hacienda cost 600w). Haciendas have slow pay off specially at the beginning but this is a 600w& 200f card in age 1. Too gentle.
3) They have a Skirmisher card on Fortress age that: it's a combat card( +15%Hp& dmg) + let them be automatically invisible when no enemy is in their LOS + let them move at full speed while invisible. Way too powerful.
These are the things that impressed me at first look.

It's an issue? Yes. It's a detrimental one? Only time will tell but Idon't think so: they are beefy and the padres can keep them alive.n0el wrote:The 2 pop is a pretty big issue though.
Plus differently than Caroleans they have a decent light infantry to back them up and a competent army to be led as well.

Re: Mexico is Broken?
tbh it just really looks like a 2 in 1 musket, its about x2 the cost (more gold heavy so maybe not that good), x2 the pop cost with x2 HP but only 50% more attack.
So like early game they are good against equal numbers but they wont scale well.
