Banning the Russian Civ?

After the historic russian invasion of Ukraine some gaming companies have already taken steps to show solidarity with Ukraine. EA for example announced that they will delete russian teams from games like FIFA.
What would be your opinion on deleting the Russia Civ from AoE3DE in the meantime? Post your thoughts below.

i told about both .. finally DE is the same base as legacy.. except balance and civ.. it's the same product aoe3

Banning the civ doesn't make a lot of sense.
Organizing a fundraising tournament for humanitarian help in Ukraine - as we did with the Goodfellows cup - would be nice though.

Maybe i miss something but "Russia" is still in history books, still on Google Earth, and it's even more a joke in a game like AoE were basicly all civ playable was ruled buy someone like Poutine.

The point with international sanction is to hurt Poutine / Russia but not to delete them from history. Moreover, russian athletes are allowed to play their sport if it's under neutral flag (at least, for sports i am watching), maybe you can rename "Russia" into "neutral country" with a white flag but big lol if someone do that.

No. All these bans are directed at the Russian state. AOE3 is a game made in the USA about historical warfare, it doesn't make any difference to the current situation if "everything Russian" is purged out of culture.
It's also dumb, because it punishes those Russians who don't support this war of aggression against Ukraine

I dont agree with this at all.
First of all russia is part of history, also they have been part of the game since the very first aoe3 game.
Secondly it will be sending the wrong message. What putin and his government is doing is wrong, but the Russian people is not at fault. In fact many of them have families and friends that live and/or were born in Ukraine, and many are being arrested for protesting and speaking out against it.
There are far better ways to show solidarity with Ukraine and this is definitely not one of them.

Playing russia in game does not mean that you support what Putin does. Just like playing germany in game does not mean you support what Hitler did. You can probably find examples for each civ in the game. So I think it would be silly to ban them.
