Looks like a Mediterranean civilization like Ports, Spanish and Ottomans.
Apparently Elmeti will become their unit(?) Shame, I really liked that unit as Merc when I started playing AOE3.

This is good. I am trying to get back into the game and there is no better way to do so than to play an overpowered civilization.

I've got a feeling it's probably going to be fine and it will mostly be a matter of tweaking down numbers. The only thing I fear are the 4.5 speed ranged infantry and the 4.75/5.0 speed Heavy infantry omnipresent in D.E. civilizations.Mr_Bramboy wrote: ↑10 May 2022, 08:25This is good. Plus, nothing can ever top the ludicrous stuff put into Mexico.

I just hope Italy isn't overly complicated like some of the newer civilizations. I have no urge whatsoever to learn what a Mexico is.DNLgibraltar wrote: ↑10 May 2022, 08:33I've got a feeling it's probably going to be fine and it will mostly be a matter of tweaking down numbers. Hope it will be cool. But I'm afraid it will turn out to be a very dumb civ in total, with a few unstoppable units/builds.

Also, are we going to talk about Leonardo da Vinci's tank behind the cathedral? It might just be a new cheat code, but for the memes I really hope it's a real unit.

Didn't even notice. Probably air baloon or cheatMr_Bramboy wrote: ↑10 May 2022, 13:58Also, are we going to talk about Leonardo da Vinci's tank behind the cathedral? It might just be a new cheat code, but for the memes I really hope it's a real unit.
Apparently they can trade with carts from the market. Also what are those sloops, merchant boats or just props?
They are banks for sure

So, units are elmeti, goons, genoese xbow, pike, halberdier, and a unique rifle, also it seems a regular xbow between market and dock.
Also they build banks(produce coin or maybe new resource?), and market seems producing wagons?
On water, they have caravel, and a unique boat. Also it seems an venetian arsenal on left bottom corner. There should be unique techs for water i guess.

No idea what's his role. Maybe just campaign/historical battle props.
By the way, looks like they also have some kind of unique arsonist (guy with the torch on mid left)
Also bankers (those dressed like envoy)

I wouldn't want to be too fiscal but for sure at that time the flag wasn't yet that of today but it was that of the Kingdom of Italy with the Savoy coat of arms in the center.
Re: So it's Italy after all. Any thoughts?
Considering all the fuss about other flags being not accurate for their era, they can surely fix it for Italy too

Yeah, let's reopen that Pandora's Box and also discuss the German flag, which doesn't stand for Germany at all. It's the two-headed eagle and is clearly a symbol of the multicultural construct called HRE with its German, Italian, Czech, Dutch, Polish, etc. subjects.
Here you can find a list of German flags. Good picks could be the banner of the King of Germany, the flag of Royal Prussia (due to Friedrich der GroĂźe being die kĂĽnstliche Intelligenz fĂĽr die Deutschen) or the German Empire flag, although the last one tends to have negative connotations nowadays.

I don't know what to tell you, I didn't understand De's system of flags, it would be better to put the flags of the last period of the game that is, almost the end of the 1800s excluding the natives.duckzilla wrote: ↑10 May 2022, 20:03Yeah, let's reopen that Pandora's Box and also discuss the German flag, which doesn't stand for Germany at all. flag nerds are the worst
If I were a petal
And plucked, or moth, plucked
From flowers or pollen froth
To wither on a young child’s
Display. Fetch
Me a ribbon, they, all dead
Things scream.
