played four brith games on PUP, giving them a FAIR AND HONEST CHANCE, exploring caves, shoring up, here are my initial impressions:

-so without a food or wood treasure (and starting tp, no gmt) you age 50 seconds later than normal brit (click up at 3:25 vs 2:35). At a minimum you can say brit ages 1 vill late now (opening tp), or 25-30 seconds. Can achieve olds times with food tres i think, or 2 manors, or 2v.
-ive been starting tp and going distributivism and VC in age 1
-if your opponent lets you manor boom with distributivism and VC brit still pre gud
-if your opponent rushes you, you aged at 3:00 or 3:25 and sent distributivism and VC so good luck
-if you don't start TP and send only distributivism you're still aging a vill late, with less vills, to make more expensive manors than before

I think brit should be busted by a lot of rushes. i have no idea how you can just remove 3v from a vanilla civ let alone without any apparent compensation (except gmt, which could be slept on), and a manor nerf to boot. face spit spirit etc.

-if you're allowed to vc manor boom, GMT mid age 2 to take tp line in preparation for 700c to age feels nice actually, or before, something like, 700w 600w 5v GMT 700c or 700w, 5v, GMT (naked boom) or 700w, 5v, GMT, 700c

I think they've maybe turned the civ into a 1 dimensional VC boom defense civ that makes longbows behind walls, really depressing. What would aklak think?

Disclaimer: I just havent gotten around to playing non VC brit, it hurts too much on paper, I'm damaged and fragile

That's not right, it's basically the same time to click age up. Here's a game where kevin ages at 2:42 doing 2v. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1745612269?t=3h41m27s
2v in at 2:09, starts aging at 2:42. 2v gather 54f. If it was 3v, the third vil would gathered 27f so would allow aging 2s earlier. distributism would mean aging 4s later than 2v, so at 2:46.

Tp start with GMT card second (so 2 tp active) means you age up in 63s instead of 90s, so it's worth a vil in tc idle time+200w

what about just old brits with 2v shipment (I assume all nilla civs have that card)?
I don't like the 3v removal but from a balance standpoint it probably doesn't change much.

It's minor, but I really can't fathom the devs' thought process here, maybe I missed something:

Oct. 22: Portugal is laming explorers in treaty with the Bandeirantes card. Do we add a ransom timer just in treaty? No. Do we add a ransom timer just with the Bandeirantes card? No, we add a blanket ransom timer to all Euro civs in sup as well (quite annoying, imo), creating an oos bug in the process.

Mar. 23: Bandeirantes (II): Now also removes the ransom cooldown for Explorers.

Now the situation is the exact opposite of how it should be.

yea spose so if you open as you would before. im assuming tb start and play because im wanting to work around playing the game with just less stuff than before.

but there will be either some idle time or aging a vill late way more often than there ever was

if brit is sending 2v instead of 3, to build 140w manors, im just not going to play that

Tbhh I think Brit is good, even if the changes are disruptive. The GMT buff is good for a mid age 2 faster age option.

Tps are already good, so a card that incentivizes them that arrives fast is nice.
