It's not even about that game but it sounds quite obvious. You have no way to fight jan/abus in age 2, and you have no skirm/goon in age 3 so it's tough.

France is faster though, and they can add bows, and have cdbs. Sweden is kinda forced to rely on the 8 bows and 2 cannons (which just don't do much vs abus) as their anti infantry. They have the tower though so I guess they might be able to hold and age, but meanwhile otto gets stagecoach and they can also age. And gl dealing with abus in fort when you can't prod skirms and don't have time for jaegers

Wasn't working for me so far but maybe my macro was just bad. Mass caroleans seem to beat comparable numbers of changdao+arquebus and Sweden has the better eco so can't wait too long.

I guess yea but tp+torp start and maybe 5 caros to poke/delay jans killing tp for stage, similar to french 5 musk semi. semi vs semi or semi vs jan/abus at least seem better for sweden than age 2 vs age 2.

5 musks semi doesn't do anything vs a proper jan/abus semi though. He just gets the whole TP line, pressures your base and ages up barely later than you with more units

The civ is easy af but it's still meh. Midgame you get something like Dutch eco if you get away with it, but you still have somewhat poor unit choice and have to rely on mass caroleans with many ups to beat more standard combos.
Anyway it's one of my main qs civs, if that answer the question.

The real question is, does Breeze think Ports are weak?

The civ is not easy at all. If think you still don't understand that you have to herd the animals toward your mines to be efficient.

feels like otto has to play perfectly meanwhile sweden can just dictate the game by running around with a huge mass of 90-res soft counter units that have 6 speed. If otto pushes your TC then abus get shredded by TC fire and tower. If otto doesn't sit on top of their fb they have to deal with a very mobile caro mass threatening to delete anything that pops from them. If otto sits on top of their fb they can't defend stagecoach and will have no eco, meanwhile sweden has one of the best 4-10 min booms in the game.

Head to head sweden can't win a fight but Sweden can just make sure a head to head fight never happens
