Is it worth it to train spies vs jpn as otto?
Is it worth it to train spies vs jpn as otto?
Is it worth it to train spies vs jpn as otto? I mean as otto you are up pretty fast and have a church in most cases. So why not train 1-2 spies to deny shrining and have speedy scouts. Or is this delaying your ff/colonial-agenda too much?

it can be decent assuming japan is actually shrining at that point. it is possible that you don't find them before they have stopped

why not just having 3/5 huss to search and destroy the explorers? it is much cheaper and much worth it than trying to invest in spies

3/5 huss as otto is way more of an investment than a spy. I'd rather say that you usually can probably kill one explorer with yours, depends on your tps though.

3/5 hus cost:NekoBerk wrote:why not just having 3/5 huss to search and destroy the explorers? it is much cheaper and much worth it than trying to invest in spies
360f/600f
240g/400g
Training time: 40 secs
And you have to build a stable (200w). Building the stable costs also time.
(If you ship 3 hus you would delay too much stuff I guess)
1/2 spy cost:
125g/250g.
Training time: 20 secs
And you have to build a church (150w), but I guess as otto you always build chruch in age I nowadays.
I think with 2 spies you can hunt down the explorers more effectivley because you have them at least 20 seconds earlier. And it's slowing your BO down less than the hus. Ofc the hus could be more useful later on. But on the other side having stealth scouts is also pretty nice.

I have no clue about the otto-japan mu... When do jpn normally stops to shrine in this mu in case they scout a ff?harcha wrote:it can be decent assuming japan is actually shrining at that point. it is possible that you don't find them before they have stopped

Ofc it depends... but can you give me an idea? Like what would be my worst case scenario as otto with the spy-ff^^

That u train 2 spies never find any monks and they just get shot down by ashis. Its not very likely tho unless japs do some aggressive low shrine build.

Question is how fast spies can kill the japanese monk before they poof off? how many hits it takes to kill full explorer in case of 1 spy vs 1 explorer?

I've done it before, it's ok but it really slows down your build and you have to be 100% certain it's a kami build or you'll just lose the game. Your first batch or jans or your first tp in colonial will be severely delayed, slowing down your build. If you don't find the explorers you've basically lost the game.
@Challenger_Marco It's a two-hit-kill.

1 spy is fine probably, but they have to be shrining, which they might not against otto

i think it is 2 hits to kill a healthy japanese monk. if he has good reaction (sees you before you get the first hit off) he might poof but still be severely damaged.Challenger_Marco wrote:Question is how fast spies can kill the japanese monk before they poof off? how many hits it takes to kill full explorer in case of 1 spy vs 1 explorer?
