How to deal with fortress/industrial aztec masses
I think I suck at this game, I am so frustrated.
I just played 2 40 minute games vs aztec where I have a 20000 score lead vs the aztec players and I cannot end it
and I just end up losing because my masses keep getting wiped over and over.
I really need help though, I can never beat a good aztec player if the game goes late (I survive all in and they just eco up) or if we both fast industrial.
Please tell me what unit compositions to use and how to use them to fight different types of aztec masses.

Who has melee units? Who has range advantage? Which compositions are you struggling against?

Sounds good. I think people need some idea of the compositions to tell you how to deal with them.dutchdude117 wrote:Sorry let me elaborate in original post, when I get some time to calm down and watch replayschris1089 wrote:Who has melee units? Re: How to deal with fortress/industrial aztec masses
So there were a couple units compositions between the games:
1) Skull Knight + Slingers + coyote runners
2) Mass eagle runner knight, I know skirms should should counter them but they would just chew through my mass of 50 skirms
One big problem I noticed with my game play is fighting when I am not at 200 supply, when he has more units shooting, it really doesnt matter if my unit counters his, the more stuff principle wins out.
also I've come to the conclusion that I need to be using horse artillary more often

late game dutch, or any civ with good skirms, should clean aztecs easily. just go full skirm basically.

Skirms + Falcs = gg AztecsSquamiger wrote:late game dutch, or any civ with good skirms, should clean aztecs easily. just go full skirm basically.

Well so in late game you don't want to fight when you aren't at 200 pop. If he's got so much stuff that you can't win with counter units - the game is already lost.dutchdude117 wrote:So there were a couple units compositions between the games:

Assuming the game is roughly even so you have a similar army, I think skirm ruyter beats both of those composition. Mabye someone can tell me if you need huss or artillery for the first one, but I'm wondering with the slow speed of skull knights and lack of range on slingers whether you need it.

Spain pain train is real
Re: How to deal with fortress/industrial aztec masses
Is it possible that you’ve been facing aztec players that do the full 300/200 big button over pop army or whatever it is? Bc then yes you won’t be able to win just by counter units, if you’ve let aztec overpop to full you need to play defensive with walls until they are back down to normal 200/200 pop. Then it shouldn’t be so hard
