@chronique Have you tried aging up with the TC wagon and sending SG->colonial estancias for ultimate greed? I feel like it could work on DE.

More seriously, if you are going to send SG+1000w as first fortress shipments, you could certainly go for TC age up as it means you are expecting no pressure in early fortress.

I think i used this age up one time in 1v1. Probably good vs super turtle style.

Idk if you covered the whole counter system as spain, you rely mostly on lancers to take down skirm masses. Most of the civs would do skirm fights to reduce the numbers slowly, but spain relys purely in an all-in asap as you have enough cav and inf.

I almost reached into the 100 rank so there's one or two things I learned playing spain to the top:
-They always come for your TP, so build a church if you are looking for a queue of shipments on age3.
-XP treasures are twice important for you.
-The best thing you can do vs Dutch, Jap, Port, Inca is a naked FF(2falcs + musks + 9lancers) if you don't want to spend 10+ mins into a game.
-SG it's not always the best option.
-Don't do skirm fights, rely on your unit composition.
-Snipe down the goons, you'll save a lot of lancers. You could even age3 with 4huss(your opponent won't reach goon production earlier than you reach age3).

Great input, thank you.

I've never heard about ERK raids.
Can it be that you actually meant to write coyotes?

ERK have a great mobility and hard to counter, if you play the full turtle style you can use them at the same way as ports use theirs dragoons.

FF 15 vill (no market) is surely the best way to go. I guess build a church is good at age 2.
different units compositions are possible with a 15 vill start : hallebardier-2falc, mousk-falc, 4 falcs-piq, full cav, belli-piq etc....

I would say that it is impossible to turtle (spanish gold/1kwood )without tp. So you will surely loose against some civs like french and germans.

On no tp map you can also rush I guess. 15 vill or maybe even 12-10 to attack 30 s earlier.. But it is all in mod style in both case imo.

to summurise, 12-10 with spain just allow you to attack 30 or 40s earlier, whatever is your composition army. Ofen, it can make a lot of differences to attack earlier. But if you do a FF 12-10, NEVER make vills during age 2.

Depend of the mu but i am not a big fan of ff with not tp. Church take to much time to pay off in ff situation (as you can't build it in transi plus the low xp you get). I think xbow rush or native rush are a better option but some mu are (was? i haven't play since 3 month) unplayable on no tp map (vs civ like brit / india it's pretty much unwinnable).

You can pretty much rush with musketeers+pikemen.

14/20 age up. No market.
3 vills + 700w + 8 pikemen + 700c + 600w/c.

You age up with the tower, set you FB, start spamming musketeers asap, when you'll have about 15musks and 8 pikemen on the field, you can siege any enemy house and keep the pressure while shipping rods. Add more musks to your mass with the 600c. GG ez.

While aging, put 10vills on food and the other 4 on coin, you can do a double rax with that macro, keep that ratio (4f-1c) to spam only musketeers.

On no tp map Spain have to make the most powerful ff witch does not relies to much on Xp and cards. So the best ones are the ff halebardier and the ff 4 falcs. (15 vills for both)

Making a church is necessary from my experience in these 2 cases.
