How to deal with chimu runners as Rusia?

I'm having a lot of trouble dealing with chimu runners as russia.

Unlike other factions, Rusia can't counter the chimu runners with musketeers due to their subpar stats. Cossacks can fight them before they achieve critical mass. Chimus also outrun horses and their snare inmunity lets them bypass my cossacks and attack my eco or my infantry.

Not being able to damage the inca eco its a critical problem, specialy when they wall up using kanchas due to the lack of siege damage in the rusian early game.

I'm currently labing a FF to get halbs and horse archers can also brute force chimus quite good, but I'm not confortable giving the Inca extra time to snowball me with their untouched eco

I disagree, musks are adequate at killing chimus that are going for your infantry. The problem is catching any raiding chimus.

Musket and Cossack both do very well vs chimu, in fact chimu are so bad that boyared Cossack strelet can’t be very hard for Inca to deal with

Inca really struggle against early falc pressure so I would try this even if Russia is not the best suited civ for this.

vs tower otto ff no, chimu has x1.5 vs artillery and no snare and janis don't have good melee.

it's impossible to block them due to how well they path, you just kinda take the trade

Go age 3 and train cannons, adding cossack and cav archers. It's impossible to break 2 war hut defense with 5 cossack rush.

I feel like against Inca, getting map control and pressuring is important since Chimmu cant snare so that means that inca themselves cant punish raids very well so being in their face and pressuring their base means that they have to pull back. Thats maybe against a non forward inca.

against forward inca I say go age 3 and get cannons or opri

nah its fine, well i maybe bias cause I play china and you can just hide in villages. But i think chimu are like pretty bad defensively cause they cant be used to force engagements so counter raids are easy.

For some reason ranged cav doesn't have bonus against shock infantry. The only thing in the russian roster that should hard counter chimus are alberdiers

yep.

The multiplier against 'shock infantry' is shared by pikes and musks etc, so in that sense it's a variation of the 'cavalry' tag.

But more multipliers are hidden: Goons do 2.25 against cav type 'shock infantry', and skirms do 2.0 against goon type (eagle runner knight).
