What's up fellow AoE3 enthusiasts.
I'm asking you Ports players to share basic water based strategies, including build orders, decks/cards and general ports tips like building positioning.
About me: I'm really struggling with water plays and tend to avoid them, which is bad when you aim to improve. My ports knowledge is very basic but i picked them to learn water play because they are so extremely strong at it. I hope that helps me overcome my water play blockade. Unfortunately theres no particular water guides on the strategy wall to help me quickstart. I play most civs competetively, maining india and japan. My elo is around 1450, peaking at 1500.
Thanks in advance. Also check out my twitch. I'd be glad if someone decides to live coach me ports or water play with different civs.

Thanks for developing my water play
Re: Ports Water Strats
Thanks @Guigs
I watched the build order part and try to reproduce it. Would you say its fine to do standard 14 vil up on maps with no extra animals (if i find a wood treasure early for example)? Or is it essential to do 10/10?
And what cards in the order are for discussion? Schooners, 700w, rendering plant in that order seems to be the common ground here. From there on its adapting to opponent playstyle i suspect. With the goal to reach age3 without losing the game and be as greedy as possible.

14 vills age up is too slow, try to aim for 12 vills age up if possible, 13 in the worst case scenarioanimusvox wrote:Thanks @Guigs
