how to counter Hausa watchtower rush as France?

Like the title says: how should I counter a blind watchtower rush from Hausa as France?

I always get overwhelmed by what seems to be 30 units in my base at 6 minutes...

pioneers and towers. Its not hard to hold, but you have to commit a lot to hold and their followup is just better.

I'm afraid pioneers doesn't work here. Buffer cdbs do well against xbow pike type units, but Hausa has tons of melee cav and great musket units. Dervish do melee damage too.
On African maps you may try a native build, Or to start saloon and spam desert warriors too. 12p age up is a must.

I fail to see how shipping 65% hp to my only “military” units is bad.

I’m afraid I have a brain disease which insists on instead of aging faster and making units vs a rush, to age slower and make no units vs a rush.

The rushier, the slower. The more units, the more towers.

A diseased brain is better than no brain at all imho. That’s all these recs are showing.
